733567, Nostalgia. Remember when we used to watch TV and live post??

We'd have 100+ post EPISODE posts.

The inside jokes a season would generate were so great.

I'm watching old Top Chef episodes and I keep remembering all the nicknames each of these chefs had from us.
733582, Those live posts were the only thing that made Heroes bearable

Few other shows too. But Heroes stands above it all.
733586, Made watching the Sopranos, Shield, and Wire even more enjoyable

Man, really loved those days.
733588, Golden Area of appointment TV

I'm not sure that era of television will ever exist again. not just the quality, but the way we consumed it.
733604, SAMCRO posts are my favorites

we didnt live post. But it was a mad dash as soon as the episode ended to see who could get the most jokes in first. Good times. I reread those after the Mayans show came out. I fucking died when PI named him Stroke Face Abel.
733606, meth head ass abel lol.

733607, SAMCRO Posts were the best

We sat through wast 6-7 seasons of that shit. PI called Able Stroke Face, I think I labeled him Methface Able. I never hate-watched a so until SAMCRO season 3. You still need to hop on Mayans cause it's even more fun, especially since you're in SoCal like me, gives it another level of bullshit to laugh about.
733670, Im not putting myself through that again

733610, I just revisited those a few backs back

Was rolling. So much comedy at the end.
733615, lmao

I only fucked with the show for 2.5 seasons but yeah
733677, It really made the later seasons worth it
Posted by Mynoriti, Wed Feb-20-19 03:54 PM
those extended episodes (which became the norm) were such a chore
733613, I miss Top Chef PTP.

>I'm watching old Top Chef episodes and I keep remembering all

the show's run was parallel to the apex of the board. great stuff.

I was actually looking for an old Top Chef thread to up and talk about:

- the Voltaggio brothers growing a restaurant empire, then having nearly all of them close

- Mike Isabella opening 462 restaurants before it was confirmed he was the same creep he portrayed himself on national television as

- Kevin Sbraga opening a bunch of restaurants in Philly, then going bankrupt (seeing a theme here)

- Paul Qui getting coked out, being arrested for domestic violence, and losing nearly all of his restaurants
733617, Then there are the non winners who are killin it still

Who would you say is the most successful alumni?
733619, Stephanie Izard?
Posted by will_5198, Sat Feb-16-19 07:54 PM
at least as a working chef. two Chicago restaurants going on 10 years old, with acclaim the entire time.

lots of others are successful, but as chefs turned consultants/media personalities.
733628, Wuuuttt??!?!!

Watching that back for them has to be so cringe.

Posted by Deebot, Wed Feb-20-19 09:47 AM
Try to go with a larger group so you can try all kinds of different dishes. Or else go there extremely hungry with a smaller group.
733698, I just went thru the Chicago Posts
