Based on the comic book by Rick Remender and Wesley Craig. Produced by the Russo Brothers. Starring Benedict Wong.

Synopsis: Deadly Class follows a disillusioned teen recruited into a storied high school for assassins. Maintaining his moral code while navigating a ruthless curriculum, vicious social cliques, and his own adolescent uncertainties may prove fatal. Set against the backdrop of late 80s counter culture, Deadly Class is a coming of age story unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Based on the smash hit comic series of the same name by Rick Remender.

Officially premieres on Jan 16, but Syfy released the full pilot episode early ( a few days ago) at the links below, though they seem to now be disabled, perhaps by global region/country (go fig?):

I was feeling the first episode.

Very stylish aesthetic and killer soundtrack. I like how it's the 80's, but it's an underground 80's vibe.. not your usual The Wedding Singer 80's throwback schtick.

Reminded me of a cross between Kill Bill and The Magicians.

Good looking cast. Glad Benedict Wong has his own show.. I think he can do much more than the esoteric, magical/martial Asian though, but whatevs..

733344, I'm very interested now

I like the comic books quite a bit, but wasn't sure how it would translate onto the small screen.

I knew that Henry Rollins was in it, but not Benedict Wong. I'll have to check this out now.

The comic definitely goes heavy on the 80's vibe. But not in a generic way. The references (like the Psychedelic Furs) definitely come from someone who remembers those times well.

Yeah, I didn't read the comic, but yes.. that's the vibe they are going for.

Benedict Wong is the dean of King's Dominion, Lin. He's been playing it pretty serious and straightforward so far, but hopefully, he gets to flex his character skills a bit more as the season progresses.
733372, Yeah I'm fucking with this heavy
