Easily in my top 5 this year.

I also loved Baker's last movie, Tangerine, but this was probably better.

In both movies there was a bit of a concern on paper that it could come off as exploitative or mocking towards its very vulnerable subjects but in both cases it's totally mitigated by the huge amount empathy and compassion Baker brings to the table. The most empathetic filmmaker working today?

Dafoe slays. The child actor who plays Mooney slays even more.

Great movie.
