Still doesn't portend too well for the series though since both solid episodes diverted away from the sci-fi elements of the show and dealt with one-on-one character studies for the most part. I'm still not completely convinced this show will handle the complex sci-fi storylines all that well going forward, but I suppose I could be wrong.
I almost felt sorry for James Madsen and Mary Elizabeth Winstead because while both did stellar work with that last scene together, the moment itself felt tacked on since the A-story pertaining to Ed Burns probably should have been the focus for the entire episode. Teddy offing himself didn't have the gravity it should have, at least in my opinion.
