Great show. Liked the movie, love the series.
So well-balanced in its execution

721645, I really loved this. Posted by Nappy Soul, Thu May-04-17 12:13 AM
To the point that I'm surprised it's not being talked about in the same vein as Atlanta or Insecure. It goes way deeper than the movie and I love how honest it presents the the relationship between how we chose to own our blackness and the perception of that blackness to onlookers. My favorite character is Coco. I loved her in the movie too.I've never seen the representation of the plurality of being black and how we fit it within our environments put quite this raw.

I loved all of that as well And YES for coco being more complex All this popping of the stereotype bbbles from outside and within
Also loved that the editor got in that kiss 😊 ~~~~ When you are born, you cry, and the world rejoices. Live so that when you die, you rejoice, and the world cries. ~~~~ You cannot hate people for their own good.

739538, Back half of the first season and the entire second season are excellent Posted by mrhood75, Tue Sep-29-20 02:22 PM
I won't lie, I'm struggling to make it through the third season. Even with a lot of self-referential jokes that Netflix shows go off the rails during season 3.

739573, yeah the first few episodes were confusing Posted by Damali, Tue Oct-06-20 05:54 PM
they jumped around alot and seemed to not know what they wanted to do with the characters...i don't like where they went with the secret society
the radio show was mostly nonexistent, as well
but other than that, i really like the stories they continued to tell...i hope there's at least one other season
Lionel is my favorite character
