720663, Fucking finally
Posted by xangeluvr, Mon Mar-20-17 04:27 PM
Why the hell did they have to wait so long between seasons?
720685, AMC took a while to renew it. And it takes a while to film all the fight scenes
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Tue Mar-21-17 11:19 AM
720689, Season 1 is worth watching?
Posted by mrshow, Tue Mar-21-17 03:40 PM
720691, Definitely. It kind of just picks up a few months after where S1 ends
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Tue Mar-21-17 08:24 PM
S1 is spotty because they don't quite know what will hit and what won't. But since it's just 6 eps it'll fly by if you buy into the premise
720695, what a fucking start to the season!

720703, Widow came through
Posted by JiggysMyDayJob, Wed Mar-22-17 04:15 PM
and I loved the twist at the end, Sonny gonna have a hard road a head.

MK is starting to get annoying though and it's only 1 ep into the second season. So I'm hoping we get some maturity out of him. Nick Frost was a great addition to the cast as well.
720705, That's what I said
Posted by nipsey, Wed Mar-22-17 10:03 PM

>MK is starting to get annoying though and it's only 1 ep into
>the second season.

10 seconds into his first scene and he was already being bratty.
720729, She's almost too powerful. That's my only gripe. Besides the barons,
Posted by blkprinceMD05, Fri Mar-24-17 12:48 AM
All the factions have clippers, trained warriors. So I don't understand why the widows clippers were just eating up the son's clippers with very Lil casualties when they took back the oil refinery.

Otherwise really great ep.
720736, the sons clippers are wack as shit
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Fri Mar-24-17 11:11 AM
he don't know how to train them up like Quinn did. then Sonny's gone so they dont even have a leader anymore.
720741, True, forgot about the void that sunny left on that team---still tho they
Posted by blkprinceMD05, Fri Mar-24-17 02:28 PM
We're getting cleared like 5 to one even by the regular sideline chicks not even just by the widow and her daughter
720902, Yea they made the widow and her crew superwomen
Posted by JiggysMyDayJob, Thu Mar-30-17 06:39 PM
like you I could understand the widow, the daughter, and some of the inner circle but that whole crew took out both Quinn's son guys and the guys from Jacobee that stayed on. It was too neat, even with the power vacuum going on in their world.

Just too neat and tiddy for me
720891, whew that baptism was metal
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Thu Mar-30-17 01:38 PM
stab a man in the eye and then drop animal blood on the babies head. im so glad they didn't kill off Quinn. i can tell Martin Csokas really enjoys that role.
720901, Hamming it up like nobody's business

720918, easily my fav thing about the show.
Posted by araQual, Fri Mar-31-17 11:11 AM
after season 1 i found myself randomly speaking like Quinn when addressing my wife on everyday mundane shit lol. great character, great acting. glad he made it to season 2. and yeh, that baptism was all kindsa fucked up. that kid's gonna grow up to be juuusst fiiineee i'm sure.

and im *just* realising Csokas played Lord Celeborn (Galadriel's husband) in LOTR.

V.
721064, i'd watch a show of just The Widow and her crew.
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Mon Apr-10-17 08:11 AM
made it the whole ep without realizing Sunny is barely in the ep (is he even in it at all?). you know you got a well developed cast when the MC can be out the picture the whole ep and you dont even notice. whenever they do Rick-less episodes in TWD it's kinda wack to me.

also is MK still trapped in the mirror room knocked tf out? i don't recall them revisiting that plotline.
721140, RE: i'd watch a show of just The Widow and her crew.
Posted by JiggysMyDayJob, Wed Apr-12-17 08:09 AM
>also is MK still trapped in the mirror room knocked tf out? i
>don't recall them revisiting that plotline.

He has to be, last ep they had him going back saying he was ready to face his fear.
721314, loving the world-building outside the badlands
Posted by araQual, Wed Apr-19-17 09:41 AM
Bajie (Nick Frost) has been an excellent addition.
Widow and Waldo is an interesting combo to watch bounce off each other.
the attack on Quinn's bunker seemed foolish, i saw that explosion coming a MILE away.
Quinn losing his mind is some FUN SHIT to watch lol. i srsly hope he pulls through somehow, Csokas is magnetic.

V.
721315, This show has lived up to my expectations
Posted by JiggysMyDayJob, Wed Apr-19-17 11:31 AM
I love how they are giving us glimpses into the world before. I want to be team widow cause it sounds like she's trying to break the system the Barons have which is basically slavery/indentured servitude , but I feel like she has a bigger motive.

Quinn is just amazing, I hope they don't kill off the character cause he's chewing up the scenery like its made of fucking taffy.
721369, when Quinn started hallucinating i was like "aw hell" lol.
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Fri Apr-21-17 08:59 AM
this is a good way to keep ryder around for a bit longer. such a great hateable character.
728929, I think 27% of Quinn's dialogue is either 'Ahh', or 'Umm'
Posted by Castro, Fri Apr-13-18 10:11 AM
Of course, those verbal fillers are delivered with a gleeful "South shall rise again" pananche....
721356, i need to fuck with this

Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Mon Apr-24-17 11:09 AM
well i think this Quinn alliance will be the end of Tilda/Widow crew.

what do yall think Cung Le did to Sonny? my friends think he transferred his power over to Sonny and he's about to undergo some sort of internal trial vs his own demons to control that power.

Baije bum ass been holding out on everyone lmao.

also LOL at Vale still taking Ls at every turn.
721462, RE: cmon Widow *facepalm*
Posted by kennymack, Tue Apr-25-17 05:40 PM
it was a nice callback to last season with the poison; I figured Tilda would've kept that to herself

Yeah. She's making a deal with the devil and Tilda ain't gonna be down with that.

>what do yall think Cung Le did to Sonny? my friends think he
>transferred his power over to Sonny and he's about to undergo
>some sort of internal trial vs his own demons to control that

Interesting theory. I have no idea, but I think it's still something bad.

>Baije bum ass been holding out on everyone lmao.

Right! I'm like "Bajie knows how to fight? This MFer!"

>also LOL at Vale still taking Ls at every turn.

She's the Queen of catching Ls. Although that trope is starting to wear on me. How many times is she going to be this >< close to escaping before getting caught? It's like Charlie Brown with Lucy and the football.
721529, RE: cmon Widow *facepalm*
Posted by JiggysMyDayJob, Fri Apr-28-17 12:34 PM
>well i think this Quinn alliance will be the end of
>Tilda/Widow crew.
They've been projecting Tilda is going to walkout on the Widow. I wouldn't be surprised at Widow marrying Quinn or something to make their unholy alliance official.

>what do yall think Cung Le did to Sonny? my friends think he
>transferred his power over to Sonny and he's about to undergo
>some sort of internal trial vs his own demons to control that
>power.
I thought it was something like that but who knows. I'm hoping the Bajie knows how to stop it or can get him help. I felt bad that MK's little friend died, but then again following whack ass MK will do that to ya.
>Baije bum ass been holding out on everyone lmao.
I'm sure Baije is going to hold a lot more answers about the Abbots and that city they were talking about in Season 1.

>also LOL at Vale still taking Ls at every turn.
Like everyone else said, it's getting stupid, my hope is that whenever the Widown/Quinn alliance falls apart Tilda will help get her out of there.

721456, 3rd season greenlighted

721598, 16 eps nice

actually i think i like shorter seasons.
721509, someone needs to make a Bad & Boujee remix...
Posted by araQual, Thu Apr-27-17 10:07 AM
...starring Bajie.
and everytime the Migos say "boujee" they overdub it with a clip of Sunny saying "BAJIE!".

V.
721603, So it's obvious that Bajie knows about Azarah (sp)
Posted by JiggysMyDayJob, Tue May-02-17 09:23 AM
He snatched up Sonny's compass and like to MK. Also from the sounds of it, he must have at one point been pretty high up on the Abbot ladder.

Quinn showing restraint was a good move, though I wonder if it's part of the Widow's plan.

Next week seems like it's going to be lit with Sonny returning back to the Badlands.

MK still sucks
721734, The Badlands must be really tiny!
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Mon May-08-17 09:27 AM
Sonny and them back with the crew already? i figured there would at least be 1 buffer ep between them getting to the badlands and getting back to The Widow and all them.

and next week we get the fight everyone been waiting for.
728927, RE: The Badlands must be really tiny!

I'm saying, these bammas drove for a day in a V-8 70's sedan on one tank.
721921, wow the Mother's Day Rumble lived up to the hype
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Sun May-14-17 10:11 PM
im glad tilda called her out for everything

the widow a beast tho
721923, Tilda was holding her own for a bit
Posted by nipsey, Sun May-14-17 10:26 PM
After having watched Sense 8 recently and Into the Badlands, I am convinced that EVERY OTHER television show does fight scenes better than Iron Fist. They are so bad.
721930, Baije's missing little friend = Widow?
Posted by FuriousStyles3000, Mon May-15-17 08:43 AM
I'm guessing she is his missing friend, and the reason why he left.
721935, yep. although i wonder what her intentions are
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Mon May-15-17 09:32 AM
Bajie seemed very adamant that she doesn't figure out how to restore their powers. Although Bajie doesn't seem totally trustworthy either.
722115, finale was kinda clunky but a good setup for S3
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Mon May-22-17 08:14 AM
i guess i say clunky because i was hoping for more stuff w/ MK, The Widow and Tilda and it felt like we got shortchanged there.

but I suppose Quinn did have to be dealt with more immediately. he's a bad boy w/ the sai.

This Azra stuff with the transmitter feels part like Lost and part like Revolution
722224, RE: finale was kinda clunky but a good setup for S3
Posted by JiggysMyDayJob, Wed May-24-17 04:03 PM
>i guess i say clunky because i was hoping for more stuff w/
>MK, The Widow and Tilda and it felt like we got shortchanged
>there.
Yea we needed more and I'm pretty sure I need some more background on the Widow, he father owned the book, so we gotta get some Azra history out of that. She didn't kill Tilda either, so I guess she isn't as evil as she's made out to be.

>but I suppose Quinn did have to be dealt with more
>immediately. he's a bad boy w/ the sai.
I'm so mad he's gone now, he was chewing up the scenery every time he came on the screen.
>This Azra stuff with the transmitter feels part like Lost and
>part like Revolution

I was thinking the same thing. But it also poses the question, why was The Master so holding on to those items. I guess everyone in the Badlands aren't who we really think they are.

So is season 3 Sunny, Henry, and Tilda out to save MK from the Widow and the looming approach of whoever is coming for that signal from the radio tower.

722462, and Sunny not delivering the killing blow the first time around
Posted by araQual, Sat Jun-03-17 01:19 PM
and throwing his fucking sword to the ground, even! lol. a NANOSECOND after he just left Quinn without actually chopping his head off, i knew dude was comin back for a classic bad guy death.

V.
728928, Exactly. And I still ain't convinced Quinn is dead.

Posted by araQual, Sat Jun-03-17 01:16 PM
at least from the comments i've seen on all the review sites.
goes for me too. literally the one and only complaint i've had all season is how dirty the writers did Veil. and then they offed her at the end. i mean, dramatically it's great cos Sunny can just lone wolf it through the rest of the series...but in every other sense, it was dumb. and a waste. her storyline pretty much devolved into torture porn a la Rutina Wesley in True Blood (from whenever season she gets abducted, hypnotised and raped by a vamp, i think s3 onwards?).

V.
722474, id be mad but i reeeeally didnt like her character
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Sun Jun-04-17 01:14 AM
and it typically is the natural thing in this type of story for the hero's wife (or other present family member) to die in that scenario
722463, man, Quinn was the beating heart of this show for me
Posted by araQual, Sat Jun-03-17 01:37 PM
not that he was the lovey dovey gooey centre, but him (and Csokas' performance) kept me fucking glued to the screen. just his fucking eyes alone were menacing enough to make u not know what the fuck this crazy cat was gonna do next. was it hammy/scenery-chewing as fuck? hell to the yeah. but dude nailed it. so that's a huge loss for the show. it woulda been good to have him be a recurring big bad, like be the polar opposite/shadow of, and equal to, Sunny over 6-7 or howevermany seasons. build that conflict up over many years before pulling the trigger on it. but i guess his days were always numbered with the brain tumor in play.
the final battle was worth it, tho. they been delivering on the fights all season but that was MASTERFUL work. carried the right amount of jacked up intensity. at times i actually didn't know how it would shake out, even tho cynical me knew the bad guy gets his and our protag will limp on to more adventures.
just wished this time it wasn't so lol.
R.I.P Quinn, u deranged sunuvabitch.
Bajie's trip to the comms tower was interesting, hopefully they accelerate the Asra plotline nxt season and make it more of a focus. i suspect with Veil gone, Sunny's only real connection to the world is M.K., otherwise he should make Asra his mission.
speaking of Veil, what a shitty end for a character that suffered all damn season. like i said above, dramatically i get it, but it reduces Veil as just a means to an end: 'kill Sunny's one true love so we can move his journey along' type deak. i feel like if you're a half decent writer? you coulda found a way to do that and still include Veil. and while i've LOVED this season from top to bottom, the way they mishandled Veil was a major letdown.

so clearly we're in a post apocalyptic earth that got de-powered at some point. any theories on the backstory yet? did we try to obliterate each other with nuclear war? was it a worldwide terrorist attack? and yes to ppl above mentioning "Revolution" (which was an AWESOME show, btw). seems like it's on the same vibe. which is dope. hope the journey to Asra dominated most of the nxt season. the world is built, now it's time to start telling its history.

V.
728926, I hope they don't turn his ass in Grant Ward. **spoilers**
Posted by Castro, Fri Apr-13-18 09:26 AM
He's dead, Jim.

And I am mad that they had the greatest killer in all of the lands, with his child and Baby Momma in the same space, clipping Quinn without cutting his damn head off and then turning his back as if that was enough to kill him. Veil's death was totally unnecessary.
728931, i have to disagree here lol
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Fri Apr-13-18 11:05 AM
and yes to ppl above mentioning
>"Revolution" (which was an AWESOME show, btw).

and i watched every ep as it aired and PRAYED for it to get better. but they found new ways to disappoint me every week.

FX or HBO needs to repackage that idea.
728975, honestly the bromance b/w Miles & Bass is what carried the show
Posted by araQual, Tue Apr-17-18 01:08 AM
Billy Burke put in work on that show. never thought i'd see him as a badass anything, but dude was lethal with a machete.
i even concocted a music alias in tribute to the character (Miles Matheson, just a cool sounding name too lol).
iono, i enjoyed it heaps. shit was brutal.

V.
728981, Miles was a beast. I dont think I have seen his actor any anything else.

Posted by JiggysMyDayJob, Mon Jun-18-18 08:46 AM
the little glimpses to what happened before the world got the way it was and what happened in between (i.e. Before Sunny) is what keeps the show going.

I swear they just keep peeling layers of the past back each time and it gives us an idea fo motivations for Pilgrim, Widow, Bajie and etc... LIke we just got the red armor cats looking for Sunny, we haven't seen the Master in what in the past season and then we have Pilgrim, it's all building up to something. I'm enjoying the world building in the meantime.

730112, you right. but i want to KNOW
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Mon Jun-18-18 02:21 PM
we went ~3 seasons with Sunny just being the baddest motherfucker around and now he might also be the key to all of this supernatural stuff???

i need answers. i wonder if the Widow is his sister.

i hope pilgrim doesnt just become comically evil now that he's got the powers too. one of my favorite things about this season is how you feel like you shouldn't trust pilgrim (just because of the false prophet archetype in stories), but you also want to trust him. or at least i do.
730123, since you mentioned this
Posted by xangeluvr, Mon Jun-18-18 04:42 PM

>we went ~3 seasons with Sunny just being the baddest
>motherfucker around and now he might also be the key to all of
>this supernatural stuff???

why do i feel like in the first season sunny was untouchable, but now i feel like he's taking a lot of hits. like i feel he gets touched up by dudes that aren't close to his level.

just nitpicking.
730129, Sunny has had a rough ride
Posted by JiggysMyDayJob, Mon Jun-18-18 08:57 PM
He's been taking care of a sick kid, running up and down from what I can see the New York and New Jersey area. Also he's somewhat not about killing folks off gp, so you gotta give him some slack.

Widow can't be his sister, but I think she held power like Sunny and Pilgrim. I just want the Abbots to comeback, seemed like they were the only ones that were trying to live peacefully with those powers.
730130, i was thinking the same thing myself this season
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Mon Jun-18-18 10:48 PM
Sunny was flat washing everybody but the Abbots. he still wins most fights but he does take a lot more damage now. and he not as hard as he used to be in S1.

i thought the Black Lotus crew was gonna bag him up and he got them out of there w/ ease w/ a fucking ladder lol.
730150, this right here

this is exactly what i'm saying. he takes on these 3 bad mf's and takes them out almost easily, but then sometimes when he's fighting scrubs he gets hit and even often needs baji's help. its just mad inconsistent.
