It dropped on Friday and I binged it "Stranger Things" and Narcos style. It supposedly based on the movie and theyre already about to drop season 3 in Europe. Season 1 dropped on Netflix and this might be one of the best shows Ive seen in a while. The first couple of episodes are a slow burn but the last 6 episodes Id put up with almost any best first season of any show. The movie is on Netflix also.

i tried to find a version with english subtitles but was having difficulty playing it in itunes.... i speak french so got a version with french subtitles and dowloaded 6 eps so far about to start watching them either tonite or tomorrow

i powered thru S2 so fast, barely remember the finale. the intro to s3 with that scene and the music, i was like "yep, this is why i loved this show"

either that or I'm missing it somehow? guess I'll have to wait.

spoliers obviously.. one of the things i really dug was Genaro's 'transformation'. One episode ends with him hugging his mom, and his boys giving him that send off. The next ends with him killing that dog with that Joker from Full Metal Jacket look in his eyes

to try to answer makaveli's question above, i assumed he was away around 2 months he was gone. even though he wasn't gone long, i bought the switch. we saw his rage in that one episode when he lit up that town square because those guys fucked his bike up. it was a trip watching him going from this fun loving spoiled brat softie, to being hardened. his crew too. they weren't as hardened as much as immature disrespectful violent psychos.

also like how they *sort of* were making it look like Ciro would be the hero-ish character of the show, or at least the guy you identify with, but he's a piece of shit too which he soliidfied with torturing that girl.

there's really no one to root for on this show except for maybe some of the characters that came and went by getting caught up. the lesbian girl, that kid danielle

I had always found myself siding with Malemore quite a bit. because he was old school and such a survivor, but I hate him forever for what he did to that little girl. Peirto is obviously worse for giving the order, and that fireworks shit was the most heartless piece of shit gangsta thing ever.

that said, his re-rising to power, and his relationship with Patrizia was hella interesting. I hope she stays on the show. She was great.

I never thought going into this show Genaro would turn out this way. He went from your typical spoiled-brat jerk-off son to the most interesting person on the show. Loved the ep when he saved his pops life about 4 times in one night, only for him to react like he wasn't impressed. Patrizia saw right through him though. He respected Geni's skills, but the only way to control him was to treat him like he doesn't.

So much happened. The factions, the shakey aliance. Prince, Lady Scianel, the alley kids (aka genero's old crew), Genaro fucking over his father in-law

i ripped through it in a couple days because i coudn't get enough. I think i want to watch it again before i find S3

i saw it years back but i barely remember it. the show made me want to revisit

I'm finished with Season 1&2 and have Season 3 ready to go. I'll probably delve in tomorrow. This is one of my favorite shows hands down. I have to watch it with English subtitles. Its fun watching the show with my wife. She doesn't even come from Naples, but she understands the dialect better than most Italians that she knows that come from regions closer than hers.

Then I had a problem watching the 5th earlier today. I just got firestick Friday for the sole purpose of watching season 3. I don’t really know what I’m doing with the Kodi stuff but I will go nuts if I can’t keep watching. The first 4 episodes were hot fire, especially episode 4. though 1 and 2 were interchangeable and 3 wasn't too far behind. 4 was still good but not up to par with the earlier seasons. next up I'm gonna watch The Immortal (Ciro's back story movie) and then Zero Zero Zero.

Gomorra was really good though and it exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend it to anybody considering watching. Between this and My Brilliant Friend, Italian TV is producing some top notch shows.

Overall, still good not as good as first 3 seasons.

Really hate how Patricia proved to be basically worthless

It's almost like Genny gave her that spot just to have a reason to come back, if he's as smart as he seems to be.

I know this was mapped out, but i was really hoping Ciro somehow would make it through. He really shined this season

The Bulgaria stuff with him, which was kind of his redemption (aside from the final scene) might be my favorite part of the series of all time. That actor does so much with just facial expressions, it's pretty great.

Dug everything overall. Mid season felt a bit weird. Blue Blood's rise felt like the pacing was slightly off, like i legit had to check if i skipped an episode, but it's gonna be an interesting dynamic with him vs Geni in season 4. Watching Genaro go from to about being king shit to losing everything instantly was pretty crazy.

Finally I'm soooo fucking glad Lady Chanel is gone. I couldn't stand that bitch.

I hope i don't have to wait forever for S4, i don't really feel like finding some janky way to watch it so i'll just wait for now.

Theres a HUGE spoiler in one of the little pieces I read about it, so stay away...far away from anything you might see.

it had been way too long, and i'm glad i didn't try to jump on on what little i remembered from a few years ago

toughing this episode out in english dub which is pretty terrible.

that said, the season is flames so far.

I think it depends on if you are using xfinity or fire stick or whatever, but I wrote to them and they told me they were working on fixing it but it is an ongoing issue. That’s pretty shitty. Thankfully, I’ve already seen season 4.

this is the first season that defaulted to italian and not english, but i've never had trouble changing it

i only hit a snag on S7 where dubs, or no subs were the only options.

they've been saying for a week "we're aware of the issue and working on it" so not sure how much stock i'd put in it

i don't think this is important to them, like say, the friends reunion lol

i did start watching on my ipad and I am able to watch in the original language, so that's better than nothing.

i have nothing against it but i have little desire to revisit these people

plus it's not like Seinfeld where i still really enjoy watching reruns.

not sure why it's ranked at the bottom in here. I liked it more than last season even though the Ciro Bulgaria ep was my favorite episode of the series.

really the only tiny complaint I have Valerio's turn came out of nowhere. Dude was always a bit of a weirdo, but they could have given us some build up. Also that episode had broken subs so I had to watch it dubbed, bad voice over actors do Blue Blood's crew calling each other bro constantly.

I dug Genny's attempt at going straight. It was obvious he'd get pulled back in ultimately but they played it well.

The addition of the Levantes was great. I can't remember if Preito ever mentioned her fam, but the backstory of him not wanting anything to do with them was completely believable.

Didn't mind them being heavy with the father themes. Genny is ultimately a smarter version of his dad. I mean i don't think he'd set off fireworks after killing a little girl, but we just see he's not above doing the deed. Now he's in a similar more claustrophobic hide out.

Patrizia was so good at playing someone who was uncomfortable 100% of the time. For someone so low-key, you're never at ease when she's on screen.

A season of L's for my by Enzo. His girl was literally ride or die.

as a okp expat mentioned on twitter, this show is GOT level when it comes to killing just about anyone.

I love what this show does with new locations that we hardly ever see on film. I also like how they deal with attraction that's not really acted upon. Ciro and dude's wife, also young Ciro and Stella

Bruno's motivation for screwing over Ciro felt kinda flimsy. If either of them should have had a grudge it should be Ciro

Was the head at the end the Don who sent him away?
I mean i assume because of the timing, it was Geni who did it but i'm not 100% on why. I guess that will be answered in S5

still half a season to go so I'll circle back to this when I'm done.

Needless to say I'm still loving the fuck out of it. This show is just better when Ciro is in it. Shot out to Latvian hillbilies who saved him. When he showed up at their house I knew they'd die because this show loves to show what happens to regular citizens in their orbit. Glad they were ok.

I really didn't understand Genny's response to that being anything less than killing her, but assuming that vandalizing her loved one's graves was enough to put her in her place. it had his dad's below the belt stench on it, but it seemed like a very pre-honduras season 1 Genny move.

She was always a dick to Ciro too. I understand she has to be fierce being an old lady and all, but she was mad hateable. Plus she was a double crosser in the end anyway. She just wasn't around to see it.

aside from that i was pretty much team Ciro this season. That "The Immortal is Back" moment was epic
