With the killing at the beginning, and the Asians shooting each other, I guess the push to 10pm was justified.

It'll probably never be the show any of us want it to be, but I enjoyed how it jumped off so far.

Last time I checked Mack was on the way out.

they went from science to magic at the drop of a hat. I understand that Dr. Strange is gonna change the MCU in that aspect, but I dunno, feels out of place on this type of show.

If you try to go slow, ease it in, explain it, justify it, then you're just making your magic out of science.

no real explanation needed after that. Thor pretty much established that what humans call magic is basically just science that they don't understand yet. i'm assuming they're going to explain how he became Ghost Rider at some point, but having him show up just like that when there's been no real explanation that magic even exists feels kinda jarring.

The "take" on GR was kinda interesting, although I thought it was wack how quickly she tracked dude down....

for the last 6 months. she's apparently been going after the Watchdogs group from last season. the guys Ghost Rider killed were apart of that group so that's why she was on it seemingly so quickly.

Ghost Rider runnin around whuppin up folks is great TV.....I could use more Mei, but otherwise, it's been really fun....

...realized that somehow I've dropped all the CW hero shows except LOT and kept this show too....a year ago I'd not have done that....

i'm enjoying it quite a bit. i thought the "ghost" thing was gonna be corny, but so far they've played it well. out of this and the dc universe of shows, this is definitely my favorite still.

and the Johnny Blaze cameo was dope.
the special efx for Ghost Rider in general been great.
Eli being the villain was a twist i actually did not see coming.
and apparently Fitz & Coulson got dragged into another dimension, which is how they'll apparently tie into Doctor Strange (i haven't seen DS yet).
loving this season overall.

I loved how they showed the scenes multiple times from the different perspectives. also the Dr. Strange connection was very cool with Aida building the portal. looks like Coulson and Fitz almost got sucked into the Dark Dimension which makes me think that's where the Ghost Rider being comes from. I believe he mentioned "I know where you're being dragged to and I'm not going back".

The beginning was pretty fucking stupid though with everyone assuming they were dead after everything they've seen. Daisy laid it out which made it even worse.

The rest was dope. After the talk of wiping Aida's memory and rebooting I'm kinda surprised that wouldn't be the first thing they did after she read the book and got everyone back.

this show has been on fire lately. This week's episode was one of their best. Too bad the ratings are in the toilet and this is likely the last season. I do wish they'd give it one more season to tie in "The Inhumans" and "Infinity War".

Skye/Daisy got a text like "Go wake your boyfriend up", and she thought it was Lincoln, but the photo on the dresser is Ward. Super disappointed, even though I know that guy is in a role on Blindspot.

ep15 was a brilliant directorial debut by showrunner Jed Whedon. shit just got all kinds of real.

he's the equivalent of a GOD when he's a villain - he can pull anything off and get out of any situation - until sweeps week or a season finale.

The do this in almost all show when a good guy goes bad - Rip on DC LOT was a pretty weak captain - and now an unstoppable villain.

wasn't sure how they were gonna pull off the GR thing, but they did and the way they used it to transition to the current storyline was perfect. this season is definitely the best they've been in my opinion.

I enjoy the show, for the most part. I do long for them to have more connection to the movies, but I enjoy what I get.

AOS has the best post-denouement scenes of any show on now.

I lost interest in the Ward is some kind of GOD because he can never be captured or killed that happened seasons 2 and 3. Glad their back on track - and WARD must never ever ever come back ever again - ever. NEVER EVER.

But I'm liking this season.

ABC Renews 'Agents of SHIELD'

There will now be two Marvel dramas on ABC's 2017-18 schedule.

Amid its new series pickups and cancellations, ABC has begun handing out renewals for the 2017-18 season.

Agents of SHIELD has been renewed for a fifth season. Marvel's first live-action scripted drama will return for a fifth season. After moving back an hour to 10 p.m. on Tuesdays, the series has found its footing and helped solve the network's problem in the slot. The drama remains a solid DVR performer and is a sturdy performer internationally. Sources tell THR that the drama starring Clark Gregg and Ming Na has been working to reduce costs for its fifth season, with ABC looking to lower the drama's budget on the ABC Studios-produced series. Season four averaged a 1.7 among adults 18-49 with seven days of DVR and 4.6 million total viewers. It will join fellow Marvel drama The Inhumans on the network's schedule.

AoS has been incredible this year, finally paying off for longtime watchers.

The 2 stories this season (Ghost Rider, LMD) were pretty dark. Did that draw in people that either weren't watching or were on the fence in the past?

That 10 pm spot was rough for ABC, for three years they had something new running behind AOS. Most got cancelled mid-way through the season.

Ratings are easier to digest at a later timeslot too for a show that has been on the bubble seemingly every single year.

the framework was handled SUPERBLY.
Aida has got to be one of the most formidable baddies they've ever faced. possibly worse than Hive. she's fucked with them in almost every way imaginable. and she STILL draws sympathy from me when she's in her 'human' body and explaining her seemingly altruistic motives. it's kinda hard to tow the line b/w her rogue behaviour vs her programming, kudos to the actress playing her for that.
they even managed to redeem WARD. that hasn't really been discussed yet, tho i know he remains pretty unpopular among most of u here, but Brett finally humanised him, played him as a regular guy. dude was charismatic, affable & LIKEABLE lol. that initial scene of Daisy trying to quake him in bed, and Ward doing the hand thing back at her like "rarrg, is this a thing we do now?". and i love how we, as audience, kept expecting another heel-turn. i was so glad it never came.
these framework eps really did highlight how much we all fucking miss TRIP tho, right? i'm still mad they killed him off when they did.
HOW has anyone not mentioned how dirty Mace got done??! inadvertently destroyed by May and Fitz. and then having whatshisface robo-Russian "bash his corpses bones with a hammer" to make it look like he was quaked to death. ...FUCK. dude really grew on me this season, and to have him go out in the framework like that was both cool and tragic. R.I.P Patriot.
i love Yo-Yo echoed my feelings EXACTLY when Daisy came back w/out Mack ("hit him over the head, knock him out" etc). she shoulda just quaked his delusional ass through the portal, but Yo-Yo confronting him and getting to learn about his past a bit more, or about the man himself, will only strengthen their r/ship going forward (i'm assuming Mack survives, cos if he doesn't, i don't care how good this show is, i will fucking stop watching).

with the season finale looming, and clearly a showdown brewing b/w Aida/Ophelia and GR (what a freaking cool entrance, btw), the one main thing that stuck with me this season? the intense amount of character development, which finally elevated this show from being a slave to the MCU and allowed the time and space for us to truly get to know these people. they took em to some dark, but cathartic, places. once the story served to focus on exploring THEM (while telling its larger arc and tying it into the Marvelverse in general), the characters began to POP. tbh that's what i've always expected from any Whedon-related property, this just took a little longer to get there. but it feels totally natural and earned, and i'm so glad we get do it all over again for season 5 (judging from how AoS has gone from strength to strength, s5 should be its best yet).
