that the writers were too sprung on him, they needed us to know what an awesome guy he was, despite the bad things he did. It's the same reason i couldn't get through Godfather of Harlem.. they were too in love with Bumpy

It's contrary to guys like Tony Soprano or Vic Mackey where they'd keep throwing out reasons for you to NOT root for these people but somehow you were still on board at some level.

it seems they're going that route with EZ but it feels like course correction after trying to make him Mexican Jax, and even though Pardo is a solid actor, he doesn't draw you in the way many of these other iconic anti-heroes can. The only thing making him stand out over other characters is his amount of screentime.
