Something like that. Those were the meandering parts. Some interesting moments here and there, but ultimately it was a slog (Q was a total bust).

But I agree with you, Doran himself was very compelling, and the way he struggled with ruling in the books was great, but that's a very difficult thing to convey in the show.

Ultimately, we all knew there was going to be a ton of chaff that needed to get axed for the show and Dorne was a big part of it. Can't win 'em all.

And we may agree to disagree, but some of the "key" characters omitted from the show are also often considered as space fillers so Martin could get other players in place (cough Meereen cough).
