No one has. I've heard a couple rumor's about his early days that only old Boston headliners would know, but the bits in question a few years ago were 3 Louis jokes. That's peanuts compared to what Mencia was accused (and guilty) of. Mencia stole entire acts and did them in front of those comics. It's got nothing to do with race, jealousy, or anything else. This doesn't happen to every famous comic or every latin comic. Death threats are not warranted, as I said, but no famous comic in recent memory, maybe ever, has played with fire that much.

When people who criticized
>Mencia for stealing were making racial comments, why bother
>pretending the extremeness of the reaction wasn't about race?

You can find awful people on any side of an issue saying awful things in awful ways. That doesn't mean the person in question is all of a sudden absolved off their sins. Mencia got rich and famous off of other people's work. Plus it wasn't all Cosby jokes. Mostly dudes who came up in his scene and were barely, if at all, making a living. Stealing is the one no-no in comedy, but it's not exactly a "one strike and you're out" rule. There are degrees.
