I'm a blazing saddles girl
But I skipped spaced balls

The randomness of doing a John Wick spoof (is it really a spoof though?) is a stroke of brilliance.

Mileage will vary depending on how funny you think the central joke (two nerds acting like thugs) is.
711314, So it's Malibu's Most Wanted?
Posted by CherNic, Sat Apr-30-16 10:57 AM
They are promoting the hell outta this movie. I'm avoiding it like the plague.
711342, I had a good time watching
Posted by Laz aka Black Native, Sun May-01-16 05:34 PM
My concern was how were they going to keep this going for the length of a movie, they did it.
711350, I can't help but think this is just mediocre
Posted by Tiger Woods, Sun May-01-16 10:45 PM
Because if this was half as good as everyone wanted and expected it to be, you'd be hearing more about it
711360, Enjoyable but had problems
Posted by B9, Mon May-02-16 07:31 AM
Their biggest jokes were the most absurdist things, including the ending punchline, but I feel like they missed some chances to make this a really smart-dumb movie by sort of skating past their switch to a "gangster" persona pretty quickly early on with a way too fast talk about their use of the n word. And Will Forte seemed wasted in a character that has been done a hundred times before.
711361, I liked it. Had a lot funny moments. A solid B-.

711536, Needed more Keanu & Forte...less Faris & George Michael
Posted by jigga, Thu May-05-16 04:01 PM
The Anna Farris scene w/ multiple cuts to the car went on way too long

Meth phoned it in too

K&P have great chemistry but the schtick got old pretty quick
712602, came off like a 45 yr old white dudes satire of "gangsta rap".
Posted by Reeq, Sat May-28-16 01:06 AM
the outdated stereotypes/slang.
shit woulda maybe been sharper back in the 50 cent era.
i couldnt tell around what year it was supposed to take place.
you got trap music in there
but you got people who looked like gta san andreas characters.

the fake thug "schtick" got old fast
and they literally relied on it to carry the whole film.

i cant remember if i genuinely laughed once watching this.
i wouldnt be surprised if this shit was filmed in under 2 weeks.

and i generally find key and peele hilarious.
but this shit left me questioning whether they hang with *any* black people lol.

712703, yup. the boy aries hit the nail on the head:

this is 100% on point. and i do like k&p, i find a lot of their stuff funny. but yeah.

their comedic background and sensibilities, the second city improv and nerd culture thing, is way more in line with what we typically see from white comics rather than the black standups who came up through the def comedy / comic view / hood nightclub circuit.

which is fine, funny is funny, but it's a difference worth noting.
