I loved the first.

I suspect that Jolie has segued full force into directing and/or shooting for more Oscars.
701947, i figure the same.

Im guessing the script hasn't come together. I don't think this is much of a passion project for Aneglina Jolie and Im not sure a sequel gets made unless she makes it a priority.
701955, it probably ain't happenin.

I might like it more now that I've learned to embrace ridiculously stupid movies (and this movie made zero sense) but man, I despised this movie when it came out.

That being said, last I heard was that Jolie nixed the latest script. And the last one was a bit of a disaster in production/edit (which helps explain why one of highest billed actors - Andre Braugher - appears for one moment at the end of the film and why Chiwetel disappears for half of the flick) so I'm sure they want to have a much stronger foundation this time.

Salt also has one of the all-time sexist studio notes. In the original script (when Salt was to be played by a man), he saves his wife from the bad guys. In the rewrite for Jolie, they said that her saving her wimpy nerd husband would have emasculated his character, so they had her fail and have the bad guy kill him.
