She had all the dreams of being a fairytale princess - and one of GoT's principal missions seems to be to knock naive fairytales into the dirt with the gruesome realities of medieval life.

Her entire "I'm going to marry Prince Charming and he's going to be my knight in shining armour and I'm just going to eat lemon cakes and look PRETTY" outlook in seasons 1 and 2 made it an absolute lock that she'd eventually get raped by a man she didn't like on her wedding night.

I think what people here seem to be wishing is that the writers chickened out. You can't give Sansa a fairytale. The entire point of her character is to destroy that fairytale.
