695759, I'm just now reading that fans asked Louie...
Posted by LeroyBumpkin, Fri Apr-10-15 07:14 PM
...to make this season funnier. That they didn't like the drama of last season.

That's crazy cause S4 was the best of the series on so many levels.
I've rewatched it like 3 times.
695777, hagh?
Posted by herbiehowsermc, Sat Apr-11-15 09:27 AM
What the hell, where's Pamela?
695894, She's still in the picture
Posted by nipsey, Mon Apr-13-15 11:04 AM
Louis, as you may have gathered by now, doesn't stick to continuity rules too closely. She shows up in the next episodes and they are a couple. Louis just wants to tell whatever story he likes regardless of continuity.
695808, I hope he didn't listen to them

Posted by Mgmt, Mon Apr-13-15 11:06 AM
One of the few times I've laughed out loud on this show: Louie's face when they started chanting and asking the questions
695910, Didn't he seem disappointed tho?
Posted by spades, Mon Apr-13-15 01:05 PM
I think he liked the other group better.
695896, She was HORRIBLE!
Posted by nipsey, Mon Apr-13-15 11:06 AM
>God the potluck host was SUCH an asshole.

Is she a character they have shown before? Cause I need to know why she was such a dick to Louie.

But why. Oh why? Did he tell them he was doing the surrogate when her water broke? Why was that pertinent information? All he had to say was, he helped her get into her apartment and her water broke. Dude didn't even need to get into the details about him bussin' on their baby's head.
695898, Yeah TMI, especially for that woman

I felt that shit SOOOO much.
696396, was this episode addressing the "not funny enough" crowd?
Posted by Mynoriti, Sun Apr-19-15 01:54 PM
or am i just reading into it too much?

open up with a poop joke
the miserable, un-funny comedian
the foreign film
Louie about to launch into a flashback story, and Pamela cutting it off with "it feels long, i dont care"

Either way, there's so much good shit in each episode. the aforementioned dinner convo was so great

and the small details... "little white bitch"
or the way Louie struggled to say "suck my ... dick"

and damn those things did look delicious.
697112, I lost it at little white bitch

Louie's "character" makes sense in why he deals with her, but I just don't know many men who would continue with such a woman
696804, I hated the cold opening with the Asian store owner. The Cop Story

and exhibiting the point that Louie was making with that scene

old folk get defensive when young folk exhibit a pedigree that has surpassed them, and it's the way it should be if we are moving forward with the collective human experience

Louie took a nice shot at the dumb ass idea that the student could/should never be better than the teacher

Earth would be barren if that were true

when I was younger working retail the worst shit was closing time hitting, and some asshole comes in 5-10min before closing, when er'body trying to go home, and wants A-grade service.

As the owner she was like nah I'm good, don't come back if you don't want some one else will

697034, Any nobody mad, her shit was just dumb.
Posted by Buddy_Gilapagos, Fri May-01-15 12:29 PM
She made a nice point about younger generations should be smarter than older generations. Thats the kernel of truth that could have made her a wise character.

However her wisdom was coated in dumb shit.

She accused him of being racist. Ok whatever.

But I lost interest in anything she had to say when she was like "I am 25 and I own my own store". Really? that's why you got it all figured out? What older person didn't think they were the shit at 25 for whatever reason?

I hated the scene because it suggested that the learning needed to go only one way. The Truth is that a 25 year old could learn that even though they feel like they are hot shit they will eventually grow old, if they are lucky, and no longer be hot shit.

And it's a wisdom that every older person who was ever 25 knows and most young people can't really appreciate until they are older.

Posted by Buddy_Gilapagos, Fri May-01-15 02:38 PM
Louie is insecure and intimidated by young people which is a rich subject matter to explore but his ultimate conclusion was wrong. Or if his artistic objective was to flip the paradigm of Dumb Millennials and Wise Adults then he didn't accomplish that point because the cunty-ness of the broad obscures that point and she still came off as a dumb millennial.

But I am surprised that people see it any other way so if the point was to be messy and have us argue about it then he did win.

This dude is a genius in my humble ass opinion y'all.

All the emotional notes, jokes, and scenes dont always hit, and Louie not feeling the need for episodic continuity doesn't help at times, but man his reach, experimentation, his content, his subtlety is so damn expansive. I always feel like he's trying.

I love this damn show

The episodes I've seen form Season 1 would work better as a black and white silent comedy where bad things happen to him and he just silently frowns.

Is there joy to be had when watching these?
