New exclusive platform in Yahoo Screen. Two eps today for the premiere date, 11 eps to follow every Tuesday after.

I'm cautiously optimistic, but still in. So, who's with me?

Synopses below for the first two eps.

Episode 1: Ladders - Francesca “Frankie” Dart is hired as CFO of Greendale after a roof collapses from 40 years of Frisbees. Tasked with fiscal responsibility, Frankie suggests cutting unnecessary classes such as “Ladders” amongst other changes, and Abed helps Frankie. Struggling to keep Shirley’s Sandwiches afloat, Britta, Annie, Jeff and Abed turn it into a speakeasy after Frankie bans alcohol on campus.

Episode 2: Lawnmower Maintenance and Postnatal Care - The Dean purchases a VR system for Greendale that could bankrupt the school, forcing Jeff to find the creator, Elroy Patashnik, to save them. After moving in with Annie and Abed, Britta finds out her parents have been paying her debts to her friends. Chang gets bitten by a cat.
694481, I'm here for it

I'll be checking some of it later tonight.
694502, That was great!
Posted by walihorse, Tue Mar-17-15 10:03 PM
The 1st two eps were better than season 4
694516, loved how they addressed Shirley & Troy
Posted by Ray_Snill, Wed Mar-18-15 09:22 AM
both episodes were better than I expected, that virtual operating system was awesome.

694963, I enjoyed the first two eps also...
Posted by aScribe, Wed Mar-25-15 11:56 AM
The first moreso than the second (although some reviews suggest the opposite). Loved the Shirley tag and liked the introduction of the two new featured characters.
694504, No Arrested Development curse here (no that's not a thing)
Posted by KingMonte, Tue Mar-17-15 11:10 PM
Just sayin, I'll be waiting for the chronological rerelease before I finish it.

First 2 of Community made me feel good. Shirley lost those pounds. Folded in the new characters nicely. Feels different going off campus (yes, we did it before) and I like it.

I'd like to believe I'll chill and marathon, but I couldn't even leave the house before I watched the first one today.
So glad it's back and in good shape.
694517, Saving my review until friday

We need to get back to podcasting these shows. :-/
694958, Episode 3: Basic Crisis Room Decorum
Posted by aScribe, Wed Mar-25-15 09:51 AM
The group has to go on the offensive against a claim that Greendale graduated a dog; Abed creates an attack ad discounting the dog; Britta, after pooping her pants, connects with Elroy over the band “Natalie is Freezing;” Chang shoots a single person porn.
694965, Solid episode, it could have been a season 2 or 3 ep with the OG group...
Posted by aScribe, Wed Mar-25-15 11:59 AM
My only disappointment is that they don't appear to be giving Chang an arc. I don't think he had one in Season 5 either (though it's admittedly a blur). With the exit of three of the main cast, you'd think he'd be used more than just "insert odd or random joke."
695595, Episode 5: Laws of Robotics and Party Rights
Posted by Ray_Snill, Tue Apr-07-15 12:16 PM
why isn't this show on network TV?? why couldn't it find an audience?? this latest episode was brilliant and the attempted murder scene was fricken awesome. I just don't get it, how was this show not a big ratings hit...

695607, ? this show climbed inside its own asshole too much
Posted by Rjcc, Tue Apr-07-15 02:53 PM
to be any kind of major hit.

it could've held on as long as P&R did but for two things -- there's no big star on the show, and it's not made by NBC, it's made by Sony so they were never as committed to it

www.engadgethd.com - the other stuff i'm looking at
695814, I cannot get "Pillar of Garbage" out of my head
Posted by Innocent Criminal, Sun Apr-12-15 12:56 AM
I want to hear the whole song.
695825, I like it
Posted by handle, Sun Apr-12-15 03:02 PM
I like Keith David, but I do wish Enlisted would have been given another season.

Crushing hard on Annie. They're using Britta less now.

Abed needs another Troy - he's more interesting if someone's supporting his wacky ideas instead of just calling him "robot."

Paget Brewster's kind of weird - she's "business Abed." And she's like 8 inches taller than Annie.

"Gay Dean" was a good song.

Chang's getting used more creatively now.

We need some sort of mini arc for a few episodes - unless there's already one I haven't noticed.

697258, Enjoying the season, but CANNOT watch on yahoo
Posted by KingMonte, Tue May-05-15 07:52 PM
Why is stealing more visually efficient than watching the free version?
C'mon son!
Next, cats and dogs will be living together - mass hysteria!!
697267, I completely agree.

Yahoo kills me with its glitchy, jumpy-ass shit. It absolutely drives me to pirate.
697661, Basic RV Repair and Palmistry
Posted by handle, Wed May-13-15 09:14 AM
I know next week's paintball episode will jump-start this thread again, but this weeks "Basic RV Repair and Palmistry" has to be the most meta episode yet.

I wish this would have aired on primetime major network television.

697671, i've disliked almost every "meta" episode including this one

699559, Same, it has gotten really annoying
Posted by topaz, Thu Jun-18-15 10:14 AM
Decent season though
698900, loved the season finale
Posted by Ray_Snill, Thu Jun-04-15 01:45 PM
now that it's over, I gotta say it worked for me. surprisingly I didn't miss Troy but Shirley was a bigger presence than I thought

698901, Thought it was a great season period
Posted by JiggysMyDayJob, Thu Jun-04-15 02:12 PM
It was nice to see them get back into their old groove sans Troy and Shirley. Paget and Keith were great additions to the show.

I'm hoping they get a season 7 but like a few people said Yahoo needs to fix their platform to make it easier to view. I'm watching on a roku and man if that user interface isn't the worst.

698932, Great finish to a great season.
Posted by j0510, Thu Jun-04-15 09:11 PM
I am really happy with how this season went. I would like to see more but if the show ends here I would be okay with that decision.

That was a great season/series finale. It was so out of the blue that they came back on Yahoo and was that good. I think they should end here but I wouldn't be mad if they kept it going. Too bad they didn't get Troy for a cameo. Oh well.
698980, I found this season to only be slightly better than four.

It just really felt off to me for the most part. McHale, Bree and Pudi all seemed like they had somewhere better to be. I mean, that's just how I felt. This is one of my favorite sitcoms of all time, so maybe I'm being hard on it, but it just didn't work as a whole for me. There were really only 3 episodes I loved (Subway/Honda, Paintball pt 3, and the finale). The rest, there were episodes where I sat there puzzled when it ended.

Before the season started, when they had just begun shooting, Harmon talked a bit about the writing process on his podcast, and you could kinda hear in his voice that his heart wasn't in it. And that's what I think was mostly missing this season: the heart. Other than the finale, I didn't really feel any of the emotion that this show had done so well in the past.

And no disrespect to Paget, but Frankie was a shitty character. Granted, she did have moments, but she as a whole just never clicked for me. Keith David was fucking amazing though.

Harmon's farewell in the Board Game commercial was really touching though.
