691818, Togetherness

the duplass bros bringing mumblecore to the HBO masses

anybody watching? i thought the pilot (it's streaming free on hbo.com) was pretty good. it's not exactly covering new ground but it was more enjoyable than something like "this is 40" to me

for anybody that watched, does steve zissis kinda looks like john belushi to you?
691819, thirty something but tone to this generation x and mili....

691834, I'm a perennial Duplass Bros rider, but I am especially loving this

the first 2 eps are outstanding. It's a cliche I read/hear often, but this show feels so lived-in. Peet and Zissis' characters could easily be cartoonish but they feel so much truer to reality than most shows/showrunners would be able to convey.

I hear ep 3 was even better than the first two. I'll watch tonight.

Love the ~30 min format for this show, btw. It forces it to never take itself *too* seriously to fill the extra run time of other similarly developed shows.

I've been watching this and have checked a couple of times over here since itfirst came on for an official post

I guess I didn't want to be the one to break the ice "shrugs shoulders*

I'm a fan though
I definitely look forward to it at this point

Lol @ the pillow making an appearance
That whole scenario is so discomforting in the best way possible (for TV)
692484, I want to root for dude but...

...he don't listen to his wife for shit. Even if you are the nicest husband ever.

At least meet her halfway and pay some kind of attention.
692930, it gets even worse in ep 5

i really enjoyed the episode but cotdamn...

brett and alex just kind of hold hands in their downward spiral with the women in their lives. it was pretty brutal to watch at times.

*****potential spoiler alert*****

where did eyebrows mcgee/sandy from the OC disappear to during the kick the can game?
692935, he walked off with his pooch another woman with a pooch

nothing important or significant I don't think. Just an older, dandy guy with a little white dog not being interested in actually participating in the kick the can.

Damn man
That shit made me uncomfortable
I didn't even want to look at the screen when they were revealing those feelings before going into their own rooms
I knew where that shit was going
The slow burn though... smh @ all of that, L for all involved

This show dishes out some disturbing pleasure
That shit was haunting B, haha
694055, The door scene at the end w/ the Blake song was dope

Good episode
694389, My favorite show that no one is watching

I watch it with my gf and I believe that any couple will recognize themselves in one way or another on this show. It gets intense on very mundane things and that's an achievement that has to be noted. I have a love/hate relationship with the Amanda Peete character because I lived a relationship like that with someone a cared about. I hope more people check it out.
