They also, pretty blatantly, didn't bring back Donna Hayward (either Lara Flynn Boyle or whoever it was who played her in the movie). I think I heard there was some ugliness between Boyle and Maclachlan, who dated during the filming of the original series.

They also didn't bring back Josie Packard, which honestly kinda surprised me -- they could have worked in some kind of reference to her being stuck in the lodge, and at a few points I thought that's what they were doing. I believe the actress who played her even wrote an open letter to Lynch (as her character) asking for this.
