I still think they could have kept Brody in the mix past Season 1 if they didn't wallow in the phony love story in Season 2.
I'll also add that anyone who still thinks Brody should have blown up the bunker in Season 1 is flat out wrong. Not to say they couldn't have killed him in the same episode after that, but the vest should not have gone off.
