certainly not less than 10 years after it went off the air. and not as a blockbuster.

i guess i can see why it's attractive as a blockbuster with good sequels easily doable. just seems like overkill.

i think doing a big budget movie now after a pretty successful run is quite a bit different from taking a 25-year old, widely derided, kitschy cult tv show and re-formatting it as something interesting and meaningful. after typing that last sentence, i realize that updating BSG was actually not that different from creating star trek: the next generation -- and it would've made as little sense 5 years after TNG went off the air to make the equivalent of today's schlocky new star trek movie franchise.

and i guess *that* is my nagging fear. could be decent, i guess. but it just seems too soon and it could be weak.
