680701, Cube had me *crine* (SPOILERS) Posted by ZooTown74, Fri Jun-13-14 04:18 PM
The self-awareness got to be too much at times, though the end credits extended joke was very funny and sent the movie out on a high note for me
A lot of the self-referential jokes flew over the heads of the audience I saw it with (young-ish, multicultural)
If there's another one (and despite the jokes to the contrary I think it'll happen), they're going to have to dial those back
And the "gay panic" humor in this was surprisingly less "ew, bro, don't be gay" than it was a series of "you know, if we take this entendre one joke further..." teases, which I guess made it subversive? *shrugs*
But yeah, there's barely a case (plot) there, this is just an excuse to get these guys together again and play off of their bromantic (yes, I hate the word too) relationship, and as such, it was fine.
AND BOOKER WAS IN THIS PIECE
The other cameos were cool as well
