The red band trailer is here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06rvPK8ydZo

Wasn't wild about this trailer (although the initial set-up was funny) but Lord & Miller have been doing some solid work and I was a big fan of the original so I'm still in for it.
668580, Hopefully fresh won't fuck up this post.

to seem to be cool and hip and then gets mad when people say it looks shitty? Add to that you call people old when they don't want to watch some "hip" indie movie coming out (mind you I guarantee you're older than me).

What a fucking joke.

I can see you're still mad that's it's not cheese-y 80s shit with hot people.

As you would say "go kick rocks".
669181, I just point out hypocrisies
Posted by lfresh, Mon Dec-30-13 03:02 PM

Y'all don't like that

The premise for the arguments in there
"It doesn't look good"
You ran in here to be first because...this...looks good?
Two white men
One ugly as shit but hey he lost some weight
The other
Great body but ham faced...
Who...
Wait the other premise for the argument
It's not original...
Two white men you've seen before in the exact same movie mind you
Based on an 80s tv show

"It's not fresh"

Two white men in a comedy...

Yes how fresh

How original

This isn't me mad
This is y'all doing it to yourselves
And I get to happily point out
Y'all are full of shit
And aren't serious so stop acting like y'all are

Y'all the ones angry
So damn mad you calling me in this post
Argh grr
Don't be mad at me you made yourselves look stupid

See, this is why I'll never take you seriously. Instead of judging a movie by it's merits, you judge it by how "pretty" the actors are. Wasn't that you in the Luther Season 3 post saying you hate Alice cause she has duck lips? The fuck does that have to do with the character at all?

1st I called you out cause last go round you didn't like that:
A. There was no pretty people.
B. They took a gimmick concept and made it into a comedy. A comedy in which everyone really enjoyed.

I never said it was original. I didn't even read what SoulHonky posted. With that said, what is "original" anymore?

Go back staning that other post.
669206, Yes there is: old hypocrites

You judge a preview of a trailer...
On really stupid premises
Then ran to adore this trailer
Calling me in here while you were at it

Again
Y'all do it to yourselves

Don't be mad cause I get to laugh at y'all being stupid

Another unsurprising thing

But note no one in here or there is laughing harder than me

669183, I think the big thing is that they're not finished shooting

So they're giving us what they can to make it look enticing.

I think when they're done and come with a full trailer I think folks will really dig it.

Good observation.
669188, The only thing I laughed at was when Nick Offerman explained
Posted by ZooTown74, Mon Dec-30-13 03:50 PM
that (paraphrasing) "the powers that be put you guys out there and were surprised with your success, so they brought you back. Unfortunately the Chinese church bought back their building so we had to move you across the street to 22 Jump Street."

I'd personally like to know who's writing this, including those with uncredited passes. And I'm not going to look it up on IMDB yet.

Looks good
679971, Very funny, solid sequel. The first is better though.
Posted by bwood, Tue Jun-03-14 12:41 AM
The jokes worked better and flowed better in the first. The action was better in the first also.

There's still a lot of funny shit in this film though. What made the movie funny is that it was so self-aware that it was a sequel. And trust me, after this there will be no more.

Also, stick through the credits.
680650, Very funny. Jillian Bell steals it.
Posted by Frank Longo, Thu Jun-12-14 11:32 PM
Cube also has more to do, which is nice.

Tatum and Hill have nice chemistry. Might have gotten so meta that the humor of the meta-ness wore off at times, but doesn't matter. Still works.
680656, Ditto
Posted by SoulHonky, Fri Jun-13-14 02:21 AM
The meta was definitely cranked up a little too high a few times and the story and side characters were afterthoughts (as they joked) but it led to a few definite lulls in the movie.

But, yeah, Bell and Cube killed it. The Twins were hilarious and Amber Stevens should definitely get more attention.

All in all, a wildly entertaining flick. It's probably, to me, as good as the first, especially since I had zero expectations going into that one and high expectations this time around. Either way, worth checking out.
680701, Cube had me *crine* (SPOILERS)
Posted by ZooTown74, Fri Jun-13-14 04:18 PM
The self-awareness got to be too much at times, though the end credits extended joke was very funny and sent the movie out on a high note for me

A lot of the self-referential jokes flew over the heads of the audience I saw it with (young-ish, multicultural)

If there's another one (and despite the jokes to the contrary I think it'll happen), they're going to have to dial those back

And the "gay panic" humor in this was surprisingly less "ew, bro, don't be gay" than it was a series of "you know, if we take this entendre one joke further..." teases, which I guess made it subversive? *shrugs*

But yeah, there's barely a case (plot) there, this is just an excuse to get these guys together again and play off of their bromantic (yes, I hate the word too) relationship, and as such, it was fine.

AND BOOKER WAS IN THIS PIECE

The other cameos were cool as well

Criminally wasted (npi)

Liked the Cube twist, twins, & Bell as well

The credit sequels were better than the movie tho
680995, It's pretty funny
Posted by mrshow, Thu Jun-19-14 02:12 AM
They could've cut the "all sequels suck" jokes back by 25% but the jokes work more often than not.
681779, it was funny at times but I wish I'd waited to watch at home.
Posted by Nodima, Mon Jul-07-14 10:39 AM
this movie wasn't worth the $30 it cost to see it in theaters. I'm down for a comedy movie that's basically a series of sketches as long as it gives just a little back with the narrative but this was just impossible to follow most of the time and pretty dull when I could follow. Most of my favorite jokes were the meta stuff, and most of my girlfriend's favorite jokes were any time Jonah HIll looked embarrassed or Tatum did something intensely physical.

681790, Funny, not close to the first imo
Posted by LA2Philly, Mon Jul-07-14 01:31 PM
The self-awareness was great but then it was seriously seriously hammered over our heads, and in general, the movie was consistently funny, but never to the level that the first provided. Cube was the highlight of the movie for me, and Jillian Bell was excellent with what she was given...albeit it was very one note. The antagonists were very meh to me compared to the first.

All in all, pretty good for a comedy sequel, the ending credits def left it on a high note.

The dichotomies of their trips had me dyin. Cube finding out about the daughter and Jonah, hilarious. The meta jokes worked for me

The movie fell off in the end when they went on Spring Break to find "the real dealer(s)", but over all Thumbs Up
