That whole series has some fascinating powers discussion. His FF analogue, Ambrose Pierce's time abilities, the fiction universe, Snow's time in Africa, the nuclear experiments...damn, that's not even close to all of it.
Waid picked up a lot of the Moore MiracleMan stuff I talked about above in Irredeemable. Did it well, too.
