597124, I love that Tracy's dustup with the gays made it to the show Posted by KosherSam, Fri Jan-27-12 09:15 AM

597127, RE: I love that Tracy's dustup with the gays made it to the show Posted by ACIDSE7EN, Fri Jan-27-12 10:26 AM
Tracy Jordan and Tracy Morgan are basically the same person. It really isn't even acting for him anymore. The whole "Idiots are People" thing was a little over the top though.
|
603953, Except they basically reenforced the "its was just comedy" Posted by smutsboy, Tue Mar-27-12 11:01 AM
bullsh-t.
they made the protesters look idiots (well, they ARE idiots) and the statement they were making was, "it's just comedy blah blah blah"
Tracy made bigoted jokes in real life. He is mostly likely a bigot towards gay people. I was hoping they'd address it in a slightly more respectful manner, even within the context of a comedy show.
But at the end of the day, Tina & Tracy believe in the "it's just comedy" thing.
They are who they are.

597215, 4 episodes in Posted by damngirlobserver, Sat Jan-28-12 01:17 AM
great season so far
much better than season 5
|
597239, This season feels forced. Posted by SoulHonky, Sat Jan-28-12 01:27 PM
Still some funny stuff here and there but the Liz storyline is pretty weak and none of the other stories have been that great. It's a lot of ideas with one payoff that are stretched thin.
I know most people probably won't agree but I think Fey might want to bow out and let the other characters step up next season. She could focus on another comedy, maybe making Bossypants a less surreal show.

597240, this is the last season Posted by KosherSam, Sat Jan-28-12 01:30 PM

597299, RE: this is the last season Posted by princeguy, Sun Jan-29-12 11:20 AM
What happened to the awesome writing?
This season's writing has kind of dropped off, but I will continue to watch.
One of the best shows ever.
|
597306, i highly doubt that. Posted by raptor44, Sun Jan-29-12 01:07 PM
re: this being the last season.
baldwin was initially only signed through the end of this season, but he recently signed for next as well. i would assume NBC will keep the show going until it stops winning awards (if it was a ratings thing it would have been cancelled years ago), and i don't think fey really wants to go anywhere else unless she has to.

597394, RE: This season feels forced. Posted by ACIDSE7EN, Sun Jan-29-12 10:27 PM
I agree. I have chuckled here and there but there hasn't been anything living up to the first couple of seasons.
|
598214, They also seem to be rehashing storylines Posted by SoulHonky, Sat Feb-04-12 11:06 AM
Besides the Jackoff joke, the whole renegotiation was kind of lackluster. And I feel like they've already done the Kenneth quitting storyline (and talk about a waste of Kristen Schaal.) "The black one" and putting peanuts into the sandwich was the most outrageous things they could think of?
Pretty much every storyline they did this week seemed like a retread.
|
603951, Schaal was so wasted, so disappointed what they did w/her Posted by smutsboy, Tue Mar-27-12 10:59 AM
|
597308, I'm watching Posted by buckshot defunct, Sun Jan-29-12 01:21 PM
So far so good, but it's going to take a while for the stink of last season to wear off. Even at its worst, this show always has at least one brilliant joke per episode, so I'm sticking around.
|
597361, OK, Kelsey Grammer wa killing it. Denise Richards though... Posted by Buddy_Gilapagos, Sun Jan-29-12 07:51 PM
I kinda felt bad for her. Her appearance wasn't quite making fun of her public image. knowwhatiamsaying?
********** the test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function.
|
598208, She's just not that funny to me. Posted by Backbone, Sat Feb-04-12 05:59 AM
The premise of her presence was funny, but every time she made a joke it just fell flat.
|
598220, her appearance was kinda funny in part 1, but part 2 was overkill Posted by Grand_Royal, Sat Feb-04-12 12:13 PM
|
598181, The Jack-Off was so great. Posted by Anfernee, Fri Feb-03-12 11:25 PM
Pause.
Baldwin killed it this episode.
|
598206, RE: The Jack-Off was so great. Posted by adam, Sat Feb-04-12 03:57 AM
Yes it was.
Also really enjoyed the Who's On First stuff.
|
598209, I still like it a lot. Posted by Backbone, Sat Feb-04-12 06:00 AM
The only other comedy I'm watching right now is The Big Bang Theory though, so it might just be a matter of lowered expectations.
|
598246, This show still good. Posted by Starks dunked on Bulls, Sat Feb-04-12 09:11 PM
|
600408, I loved the Leap Day episode Posted by adam, Fri Feb-24-12 04:34 PM
I didn't know what to expect from all those Jim Carey promos leading up to the episode, but he and Andie MacDowell were quite good last night.
|
600465, i thought it was great. Posted by raptor44, Sat Feb-25-12 12:16 PM
easily one of the best of the season. even kenneth made me laugh, which never happens.
|
601511, yep great episode Posted by x49, Fri Mar-02-12 04:16 PM
leap day wiliiams at the end though... scared the shit outta me lol

601516, pedophilia is not funny BUT when Susan Sarandon said she Posted by Grand_Royal, Fri Mar-02-12 04:43 PM
....preferred to be called an adultophobe, I died!
|
601559, That lady surprisingly killed it. Posted by Anfernee, Mon Mar-05-12 02:54 AM
She's awesome.
|
603590, Both of last night's episodes were hilarious Posted by adam, Fri Mar-23-12 07:32 PM
The first one had the trapped baby miners and the second one had some really fantastic guest stars. I'm really enjoying Kristen Schaal's character. I liked Kennth working in standards and practices (and his amazing boss), so I'm a little disappointed that seems to be done.
Lastly, I absolutely love when they include some throwaway jokes about Jenna's past, and when the Spanish-speaking news anchor said Jenna was "Pablo Escobar's former girlfriend" and "the topless host of Nickelodeon Mexico" I just about lost it. Well done, 30 Rock.
Edit - forgot to mention Krang.
|
603593, the krang joke was excellent Posted by Calico, Fri Mar-23-12 08:22 PM
...i felt funny that i knew EXACTLY off the bat...
|
603658, The Baldwin vs. Baldwin shit was genius. Posted by Anfernee, Sun Mar-25-12 07:06 AM
Dude nailed Donaghy.
|
603691, RE: The Baldwin vs. Baldwin shit was genius. Posted by ACIDSE7EN, Sun Mar-25-12 05:33 PM
Yeah his brother did an awesome job and I thought that was a good way to relieve the tension between Jack and Avery's mom.
|
608348, that episode was so funny that i'll probably NEVER delete it.... Posted by Calico, Thu Apr-26-12 09:40 PM

"Comfortable? That's not what Americas about!"
He killed those. When he spit into the camera, I was dead.

608396, I love that the East Coast gets Sir Paul, and the west got... Posted by CaptNish, Fri Apr-27-12 10:50 AM
...Kim Kardashian. SUCK IT, WEST COAST!
|
608398, that's dope Posted by Calico, Fri Apr-27-12 11:17 AM
...but i wanna see the west's show too now....Paul Mac is so smooth with it, as he should be...
|
608403, Hulu/NBC has both versions up. Posted by CaptNish, Fri Apr-27-12 11:55 AM
.
|
608415, The West coast version was funnier, if only because it appeared that Posted by ZooTown74, Fri Apr-27-12 01:05 PM
they fixed or eliminated the jokes that didn't work in the East version
East version gets points for having Sir Paul, though
Both episodes were funnier than last year's live episode
