581354, Archer (Season 3): HEART OF ARCHNESS
Posted by araQual, Fri Sep-23-11 01:26 PM
we are aware that Archer has been brought back early for a 3-part episode which serves as a mini-movie and also as the first 3 eps of season 3, yes? it involves Archer getting over the death of his Russian wife-to-be, Mallory sending someone to retrieve him only for them to get captured by pirates and Archer becomes a Pirate King...yea, its pretty awesome lol. first two parts have already aired. and i think rest of season 3 is coming at a later date.

http://www.cinemablend.com/television/FX-Archer-Season-3-Promo-Previews-Heart-Archness-34877.html

Archer, code name Duchess, is missing... And we're getting a special three episode arc to clear everything up before Season 3 proper begins in the new year. That's right folks, the people over at FX were kind enough to realize that we just can't wait that long for new episodes of the hit, raunchy, animated spy spoof so they decided to throw us a three-episode bone that kicks off this month.

Archer, since its debut two seasons ago, has quickly replaced my usual animated comedy stalwarts as the go to series for raunchy drawn comedy. Don't get me wrong Futurama is still the gold standard of animated TV (and watch out for Allen Gregory coming down the Fox pipeline) but it's nice to know that there's a really competitive alternative to Fox's Animation Domination.

Back to the bone... The three week special, brilliantly titled 'Heart of Archness,' kicks off on September 15th with Part I, which I had the opportunity and pleasure to catch at Comic-Con. I can say this much, it certainly didn't disappoint with all our favorites, including Bionic Barry, making an appearance plus a couple very special guest voices in Patrick Warburton and David Cross. As I said in my Comic-Con review, this means we get an on-screen pairing, and an extended one at that, with two of the best comedic voice actors working today in Warburton and Archer lead H. Jon Benjamin. I can't wait for Part II, you can't wait for Part I.

597219, Stupid question about "most dangerous game" episode
Posted by Wordman, Sat Jan-28-12 01:37 AM
Love the show, glad it's back.
Question that's been bugging me about the latest episode.
I can't tell what Archer is saying at one part.
Villain: "I hunt the most dangerous game."
Archer: "_____________?"
Lana: "People!"
What the hell is Archer saying? For some reason, I just can't make it out.

599260, did y'all catch the Frisky Dingo connection @ the end of the ep??
Posted by araQual, Tue Feb-14-12 04:57 AM
lolll SO glad to see it's still on his mind (Frisky Dingo is one of the GOAT animated series'):

(from wiki)
Mr. Ford

Mr. Ford is an affable, bald-headed, older black man with a fast, marble-mouthed, manner of speech. This, combined with a short-tempered intolerance for all who do not understand him directly, makes Mr. Ford a difficult character to comprehend. He is a straightforward speaker, able to say whatever is on his mind with impunity to whomsoever hears it. In consequence, his comments are often blunt, inappropriate, sometimes vulgar, but always appreciated for their honesty and matter-of-fact directness.

Mr. Ford takes on many jobs throughout the series, beginning as a pet shop owner, (though we do see him earlier, and much more AFROIER, as an attendee at a hospital for severely retarded children), and concluding as President of the United States of America. Through the auspices of a "corrupt Supreme Court" and "more specifically, Stephen Breyer," Taqu'il becomes America’s first black president. Mr. Ford is appointed Acting Secretary for Homeland Security; and only following the ostensible death of President Taqu'il’s entire cabinet, and the unfortunate ant-poisoning of the House Speaker and President pro tempore of the Senate, (at Mr. Ford’s own doing), does Mr. Ford become the second Mr. Ford to become President Ford of the United States.

We know that Mr. Ford is fond of the ladies, fond of golf, and concerned with "Double-keggers" or "Doppelgängers," perhaps both. He comments upon his ubiquity within the series thus: My ass is everywhere. The character would repeat his catchphrase when he made a cameo appearance in "Drift Problems", an episode of Adam Reed's subsequent TV series, Archer.

The character "Mr. Ford" is played by a "Mr. Ford".

603169, Archer Renewed for Season 4 (swipeage)
Posted by araQual, Mon Mar-19-12 10:31 PM
http://au.tv.ign.com/articles/121/1219364p1.html.

FX renews Archer for a fourth season, while securing the show's producers for a new overall deal.
US, February 24, 2012

FX has renewed Archer for Season 4, while will be comprised of 13 episodes.

Said FX's Nick Grad, "It was an easy decision to order more Archer. Adam , Matt , and our amazing voice cast are delivering one of the funniest and smartest shows on television. It has deservedly grown beyond its initial cult following to become both a critical and ratings success. It is a true asset to the FX comedy roster."

In addition to the Archer renewal, FX have also made a new overall deal with the series' Executive Producers, Adam Reed and Matt Thompson, and their animation studio, Floyd County Productions. The overall deal is for two years with an option for an additional two years that will keep Reed and Thompson with FXP for any additional seasons of Archer and any new projects they develop. The overall pact also includes Reed and Thompson's animation studio, Floyd County Productions, to continue as animators on Archer, along with the recently debuted Unsupervised and any new animated series produced by FX Productions or developed by FX.

Reed said, "We are insanely excited that FX Productions has committed to a multi-year deal for Archer and Floyd County Productions. They're fantastic to work with, and we hope to keep making good shows for FX for as long as they'll have us."

Said Thompson, "I am over the moon excited about the trust and faith FX has placed in Floyd County Productions with this deal. We have over 100 extremely talented artists that amaze me every day with their talent and work ethic. We hope to build on this, growing into a giant animating monster that will eventually take over the world."

"Adam and Matt are incredibly gifted producers and we're proud to have them and Floyd County under the FX Productions umbrella," said FX's Eric Schrier. "Archer has been an incredibly successful title for FXP, from ratings to DVD sales, iTunes, merchandise and even its bestselling book. They've done an outstanding job of animating Unsupervised. This is a great deal for FXP as we continue to expand the studio, and it affords us the ability to aggressively pursue new animated projects."

fantastic news. great to see Reed n Thompson in such a win position. n as some of the commenters on the article mention, i hope this somehow paves a way for the return of Frisky Dingo. that would just...complete my existence.
