570691, Anyone watch Wilfred??? Posted by Ceej, Fri Jun-24-11 07:24 AM
I wasnt high so I'm sure it wasnt as good as it was supposed to be.

570694, I dug it Posted by Marauder21, Fri Jun-24-11 08:09 AM
Not a ton of laughs on the pilot, but it's a good enough premise that I'm willing to see where it goes

570936, Exactly Posted by spades, Mon Jun-27-11 12:44 PM
Dark dramedy, def more drama than comedy, but I can see this catching it's legs and getting REAL funny.
I can also so it meandering and going nowhere. The premise is good enough to make me willing to find out.

570897, It wasn't bad, I mean i see it and think man this is Brian from Family Guy Posted by Dae021, Mon Jun-27-11 09:00 AM
With a bad attitude.
Highlights
- The set-up - What are those? Legs!! (That one right there caught the shit out of me) - Ryan's last little speech to his sister.
Decent enough premise but it literally does some of the exact same things that Brian does.

i see it as a darker version of Garfield.

571076, I thought it was funny Posted by Wordman, Tue Jun-28-11 02:43 PM
Never been a big Elijah Wood fan, but the guy playing the dog was hilarious. It could definitely grow on me. Props to FX for being ballsy enough to even air it.

Yeah, the more he does, the better. When they get away from the dog the show suffers. I don't care about his neighbors weird feud and watching porn. Just show the dog talking shit.
|
571639, I like it. it's one of those odd ball comedies. Posted by GameFace, Sun Jul-03-11 10:44 PM
you're not gonna fall out laughing still there's gonna be parts where you can appreciate how clever it is. Kind of like "The Critic".
|
572202, so what does Elijah Wood's character do to pay the bills? Posted by Wordman, Sun Jul-10-11 11:59 PM
Did I miss an episode where they explain how he's able to sit around all day talking to a man in a dog suit without needing a job? Other than that, I love the show.

he's unemployed.
that was made pretty damned clear on the first episode.
|
572257, i believe he was previously a lawyer too. Posted by pretentious username, Mon Jul-11-11 01:05 PM

572306, Yes Virginia, I know he's unemployed, so how is he Posted by Wordman, Mon Jul-11-11 07:46 PM
paying for a living? As in food, water, the lights. I can see him getting away with not having to buy weed, considering he stole a healthy amount, but the question remains. Don't tell me unemployment is paying like that in Cali.

572392, they haven't explained it Posted by benny, Tue Jul-12-11 01:58 PM
maybe he just got laid off and has some severance/money saved up? I agree though, it would be better if they gave a proper explanation to the situation
|
572415, that's my guess. Posted by spades, Tue Jul-12-11 03:53 PM
He was a lawyer. On has to think he had a little change saved up.

First Wilfred, then bear, then they look at each other, then they exit frame. Fucking hilarious.

Definitely improved as the season progressed.
Great finale tonight as well.

579206, I agree Posted by Marauder21, Fri Sep-09-11 09:20 AM
|
579164, oh this show is still on the air? Posted by SankofaII, Thu Sep-08-11 10:48 PM
I mean, i clicked it off when Frodo Baggins was trying to give the viewing audience "dark dramedy chops" and stayed failing at it (sorry, but Elijah Wood really never had *THAT* much range to begin with)
I guess I better go back and see if I'm missing anything then...or not.

579177, i like it, its weird Posted by GriftyMcgrift, Fri Sep-09-11 01:47 AM

579189, yea i dug the idea of the show Posted by SankofaII, Fri Sep-09-11 07:42 AM

579219, This show is incredibly dark Posted by Buddy_Gilapagos, Fri Sep-09-11 10:04 AM
They never really played around with the idea that the dog may actually be talking to him and jumped right into the idea that dude is mentally disturbed. That makes everything that has happened in the show take on a very ominous tone/subtext. For instance, its not clear to me whether Elijah Wood has killed a couple of people on the show so far.

PRECISELY!
|
579329, that actually made the show a lot more interesting to me Posted by Deluge, Sat Sep-10-11 06:23 PM
because before that it was pretty much just mediocre
|
600873, right? Posted by spades, Tue Feb-28-12 12:59 PM
Dude may have a couple of bodies.
But it's only dark when you REALLY think about it. Otherwise the tone is INCREDIBLY light.
|
579239, anyone kind enough to explain the closet scene to me? Posted by honeyprodigy, Fri Sep-09-11 02:20 PM
I'm slow and I've only seen like 3 episodes but I would like to know what the hell is going on.
|
579301, can anybody explain the ending to the season finale? Posted by Oak27, Sat Sep-10-11 11:34 AM
i dont understand what was going on when he opened the closet...
|
579303, that was the door to his basement Posted by HighVoltage, Sat Sep-10-11 12:01 PM
where he and wilfred hung and smoked out... and also where Wilfred kept his will, which elijah wood was desperately going to read.
but when he opened the door to his basement, it was now a closet.
|
579305, ah okay, thank you Posted by Oak27, Sat Sep-10-11 12:14 PM
this show is getting fucked up
|
600775, LOVED IT Posted by araQual, Mon Feb-27-12 10:08 PM
i never caught the original when it was on tele here but this was a great season of tv to watch. Ryan's pretty suspect from the beginning as being a lot more deviant than we believe him to be. was cool to see his character switch-up in the finale but to have it all blow up in his face at the last minute.
STILL can't think of a reason for the basement no longer being there. gonna hit google now for some ideas lol.
