502560, A show that is funnier than that sketch.
Posted by SoulHonky, Tue Feb-09-10 05:13 PM
Yikes, that was painful.
502590, I'm not sure what the joke was supposed to be

502581, I think that Ashton Kutcher's humor does not appeal to me.

I though this was funny.

"Is it a show about sunglasses?"
502617, I'm confused
Posted by OctavioPaz, Tue Feb-09-10 09:17 PM
The lead actor from Burn Notice must have turned them down for a hosting spot and they were salty about it

As an aside, the "What is Burn Notice" jingle at the beginning and end was a straight carbon copy of the "Wheel of Fortune" jingle....
502627, But really... what is Burn Notice?
Posted by Frank Longo, Tue Feb-09-10 09:35 PM
How many folks on the board actually follow it?

EDIT: Other than these: http://board.okayplayer.com/okp.php?az=show_topic&forum=6&topic_id=498730&mesg_id=498730&listing_type=search ?
502631, something much better than lost.

Is it a comedy? Action? Thriller?
502636, all of those things at different times.

the show is whatever it wants to be...

Unlike:

LOST
HEROES
etc. that HAVE to be 1 thing or they'll lose their audience
502947, ^doesn't lie
Posted by Calico, Thu Feb-11-10 07:46 AM
i was thinking about how shows like Burn Notice are SO much better than some other more celebrated shows....
502673, RE: But really... what is Burn Notice?

!
502972, All snark aside, you should watch it.
Posted by spades, Thu Feb-11-10 11:22 AM
It's a well-written well acted drama, with comedic elements. About what happens to spies when the stop being spies.

It's got lot of action, a little T&A and the characters are well-rounded and relatable.

You'd prolly like it, most people do.
502997, the characters aren't that well rounded
Posted by Rjcc, Thu Feb-11-10 11:56 AM
his girlfriend is baiscally annoying girlfriend #1 + mouse

and his friend is bruce campbell

none of the main characters can ever die so there's no real tension

but it's still miles ahead of anything else because the writing is good and the acting matches it.

502859, wasn't a sketch, it was a commercial
Posted by sfMatt, Wed Feb-10-10 05:07 PM
awful
502888, Considering USA Network is owned by NBC Universal: YES
Posted by NoShelter, Wed Feb-10-10 07:46 PM
It was exactly a 6 minute commercial for Burn Notice. Because I sure as shit had never heard of the show before then.

As Jack Donaghy would call it: Its Synergy
502861, Burn Notice has guns and it takes place in Miami
Posted by ShinobiShaw, Wed Feb-10-10 05:10 PM

502969, SNL's ratings are barely better than Burn Notice.
Posted by Buddy_Gilapagos, Thu Feb-11-10 10:53 AM
this skit is entirely based on this smug NYMAG article http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2009/12/usa_network_had_more_viewers_t_1.html.

502971, SNL needs to step away from the game show sketch in general
Posted by ZooTown74, Thu Feb-11-10 11:04 AM
They've relied entirely too much on it this season, or it least it seems that way

503426, when people tell me bout a hillarious recent SNL sketch i kinda cringe
Posted by Calico, Sat Feb-13-10 10:39 PM
...cause it's never the case...i often find myself wondering about the case studies made potentially on people who truly belive those skits are "hillarious"

they were both good, but it's a really weak sketch....
503443, excellent.
Posted by Nopayne, Sun Feb-14-10 02:20 AM
503480, Yeah, Buble came off as a winner that whole ep.
Posted by Frank Longo, Sun Feb-14-10 04:01 PM
Really likable on the songs too.
