What an incredible movie... You must watch it. You simply must.
484360, Tried to rent it @ two spots and they didn't have it.

They showed a clip on Conan's show when LD was on; Larry was berating some kid's ability at chess. Shit looked hilarious.

I'll keep checking for it ...
484392, the movie is awesome! keep looking...

!!
484403, Funny Woody film, but because of LD...

Yeah...good flick...kind of overlooked during the holiday season last year.

If you love LD...then this is the movie for you.
484464, yes, this was pretty funny

It was Woody, so there aren't too many surprises.

But it was funnier than any Woody Allen movie I've seen in years.

It's been said in reviews, but what I liked was how Larry David could play the lead without seeming to be simply doing a Woody Allen impression. That was almost enough to win me over there.
484523, Its not a must watch

Woody Allen is hit or miss. Seems like after every great movie he tries to step-down and offer something lesser. Whatever Works is just ok. I get the feeling he's trying to justify his relationship with Soon-Yi Previn.
484553, a little formaldaheyde is fine ... she REEKS of it

that line had me rollin
484577, Best Woody Allen movie since '89 (Crimes and Misdemeanors)

Still has the shitty "cheat the narrative" ploy that most lazy pictures of his feature (fake documentary, group of friends gathering around to remember a story, narration, talking to the audience, etc.) but its not incessant. That plus a few weak story elements aside, I laughed at it more than any movie this side of In the Loop; in fact, I'd say the laughs were louder than those produced by that aforementioned film. And, as opposed to Woody's more recent fare, it didn't feel like his personal philosophies were being shoved into characters or actors or stories that couldn't handle them, i.e., it all played quite naturally to me.

Larry David = gold, Jerry, gold.
484624, Better than Match Point and VCB?

You just started watching movies. If you didnt see Match Point and VCB dont go cosigning.

484942, nope
Posted by nublax, Wed Nov-04-09 03:42 PM
though good, it's not seeing a lot of his work post-Misdemeanors

in no order

Alice
Match Point
Everyone Says I Love You
Deconstructing Harry
Mighty Aphrodite
Vicky Cristina

Hell, I even enjoyed Scoop more than WW.

Woody is the GOAT but Whatever Works didn't really flow well for me.

And I mean that with all due respect. haha.
485010, Deconstructing Harry

For me was maybe even his finest movie since Hannah and Her Sisters.

485003, i'm watching now, i was entertained until
Posted by amplifya, Wed Nov-04-09 10:14 PM
the girl started talking to the actor

their conversations were mind numbingly stupid and boring, the movie just took a horrible down turn to me

edit: damn, i didnt like it at all, that was wack. im glad i didnt see it in theaters
