Sure, it's their show and they can do what they want.
With all the chaos over the years and this season, the finale seemed quite anticlimactic. Then again Kimber's death (suicide by drowning? really, guys?) was quite anticlimactic, so maybe I shouldn't be surprised that another major event in the show's timeline would be, too.
Meh ... maybe I just had hope for a show I used to like so much.
