and as a 40 year old single mother, i feel completely empowered right now.

477230, I thought it was quite funny.

I'm a huge Bill Lawrence fan so I had some interest in the show. Obviously, he hired wifey. Which is cool, 'cause she's funny as hell.

Courtney Cox's son is definitely gonna need some serious therapy. First, he finds out kids at school are stealing signs with his mother's picture on it and beating off to it. THEN he catches his moms domin' some motherfucker she just met!!!

Yeah, I might just swallow the WHOLE bottle of pills after some shit like that.

The Ex Husband was funny, too.

I was wary of a show called "Cougar Town", but it's not a bad show.
477231, I dig it. Characters are likeable and the writing and acting are solid.

Terrible.

477260, I liked it, it got better as it went on

I like the fact that she wants to do these wild things which end up backfiring on her, to the serious detriment of her son... that makes the show feel realer to me, as it's not just a middle-aged woman trying to do extra now that she's divorced...

Only thing that really bugged me was the music; it reminded me too much of Scrubs, so in a weird way the show felt a little naked without a voice-over...

And yo, I ain't know Busy Philipps was so... thick...

Also, I know it's really NOT an 8:30 show -- considering your act break is the son walking in on his moms giving a dude a blow job -- but I think both this show and Modern Family should be on Thursdays from 8-9, leading into Grey's Anatomy...

Anyway, I'ma stick with it...

i read somewhere that she's writing for this show, i.e. as a producer of some sort...

not sure how long she'll stay since The Game was/is in some kind of talks with BET to continue there...

but ill have to peep this and Modern Family online...

im salty that this is on during GLEE..which im loving.
479279, She's a Consulting Producer
Posted by ZooTown74, Sun Oct-04-09 03:00 PM
And a couple other cool folks I know, Christine Pietrosh and Jessica Goldstein, are on the show as Supervising Producers...

*readies Modern Family spec script*

477359, it's snappy...but it's not gonna score well with men in the raitings...
Posted by EmceeGrayMatter, Thu Sep-24-09 03:20 PM
there was a joke made about how she says the first thing that comes to her mind without thinking...but every character in the whole show is like that...

they should also re-name this show to "desperate ex-wife"...

I don't think they did a good enough job of telling a story. but like I said before, the jokes were just a firing off left and right so much that you hardly missed it...

but yeh...I feel SO sorry for her son...mom's 'bout smash every 18-25 year old male she can get her hands on in what doesn't seem like a very big section of florida...

The more dicks she gets the funnier the show will be.

plus, each time (after getting the dick) make sure something humiliating happens to her, like she breaks her hip falling down some stairs or she gets an indian-burn because of dry pussy.

I love Hollywood!!
479319, just watched the first 2 eps on hulu cuz of this thread and
Posted by amplifya, Sun Oct-04-09 09:16 PM
was highly entertained, i'll keep watching
479500, Dan Byrd needs to be a lead in another show
Posted by ZooTown74, Mon Oct-05-09 02:34 PM
He's been the best actor so far (2 episodes in)

It takes a second to get into the faster pacing of the show, as opposed to the more leisurely approach of Modern Family... but it's cool so far (save that fucking score... CMON, Bill Lawrence, you used acoustic guitars on Scrubs, do something else)...

Yeah, I'm watching this show. I suppose Modern Family is the better show, but I always watch Cougar Town first (on the DVR, you know).
