c'mon, those are't very good examples. fifth element is much better than those, w/ the exception of robocop.

btw, robocop is an excellent movie, and it is meant to be silly. that's kind of the point of the movie. and yes, it's both a genre classic, and general classic.

edit: and i understand what you mean when you say classics that are really just cult flicks, but let's not kid ourselves... no one's citing those flicks (again, except robocop) as classics. genre classics, maybe, and certainly cult favorites. but you'd have made a better comparison if you had said something like westworld or thx 1138.
