Posted by disco dj, Wed Jun-03-09 08:31 AM
I'm pretty sure it was some Blaxploitation shit.

But I DEFINITELY remember seeing "Star Wars" in the theater in the summer of '77. This was before they tossed you out between showings. We watched that shit twice...

My mom took me and some friends to the movies.

I still cry when I watch this movie lol...ah well I'm a crier at happily ever after movies anyway.

"Ghostbusters II" may be the first that I remember the most. I was a fan of the cartoon and I don't think I'd seen the previous film before I saw this. I remember being creeped out by Vigo and being geeked that Bobby Brown had a cameo in the movie.

I must've seen "Batman" 2 or 3 times that summer though. I remember the opening title sequence (I thought it looked like tiers of a freeway) and the end starting with the Joker taking down the Batplane.
454985, mine is Ninja Turtles 2 as well
Posted by raptor44, Wed Jun-03-09 10:36 AM

I remember, vividly, going to the art theatre with my parents and seeing Broadway Danny Rose when I was 4. They must not have had a sitter. Later, I remember seing The Mission in the same theatre when I was 5 or 6.
And though I don't remember it, I was taken to see the Dark Crystal at age 2, which makes me still uncomfortable seeing any of the puppets from that era of Jim Henson, including the Storyteller stuff.

455010, RE: dirty dancing
Posted by mellowly, Wed Jun-03-09 11:35 AM
oh wait... no... i saw Mad Max at a drive in before dirty dancing. they piled all us kids in one car... and we weren't really paying attention to the movie at all. it was all about getting snacks and bring 'em back to the car and just goofing off.

man... drive-ins need to make a come back.

As opposed to me, who dragged my parents to more screenings of Star Wars films than I care to admit.

My mother must have had a supreme amount of patience.

it was a smurf's movie but not sure which one, here are the smurfs maybe because it was early 80's.

the voices weren't the same as the tv cartoon so i was not about to suspend my disbelief in that and ride with the rest of the movie. i couldn't get over it.
