403421, i wouldnt classify the number 23
Posted by bmoregrl, Mon Sep-22-08 09:25 PM
as a "shit=tastic festival". it was predictable. both movies dont make me vomit at the thought of them. i just dont need to see them again.
403424, That's cool. I would, though.

403438, More like salvage career mode
Posted by SoulHonky, Mon Sep-22-08 09:59 PM
Has anyone seemed so desperate that they actually didn't get paid anything upfront like Carrey did for this leading role?
403446, No, Man.

403454, one of the most annoying trailers ever
Posted by THRILLHOUSE, Mon Sep-22-08 10:09 PM
at least the one I saw that played before Pineapple Express. It was a 2-3 minute long trailer that was nothing but Jim Carrey saying "no" or "yes" in a very annoying fashion.
403460, the king is back...where his crown at?

403505, ....oh, I get it. ILC.

403477, looks like liar liar part 2, but not funny
Posted by silentnoah, Mon Sep-22-08 11:02 PM
403485, why stray from the first?
Posted by duD, Mon Sep-22-08 11:17 PM
403498, Because it's not Liar Liar 2
Posted by SoulHonky, Tue Sep-23-08 12:40 AM
This is based on a memoir of a British humorist who actually did this for six months. I'm sure the marketing people thought that making it look like Liar Liar might get people to remember Carrey's older films and ignore the most recent flops but it's a completely different movie.

403512, that was just me saying liar liar wasn't funny.
Posted by duD, Tue Sep-23-08 02:33 AM
403523, Ah. My bad. Totally missed that (I liked Liar Liar so...)

422239, I'd say yes to Zooey. No need for a lame premise.
Posted by peterneo1, Fri Dec-19-08 05:34 PM
422329, Too late son. She's mine. I might have to see this afterall.
Posted by jigga, Sat Dec-20-08 02:28 AM
422087, I saw it last week at a screening
Posted by nipsey, Fri Dec-19-08 03:50 AM
It actually wasn't as bad as I expected. Yes the premise is flimsy and could be called "Liar Liar 2", but it had some genuinely funny moments. And I'm far from a Jim Carrey fan. I give it a B.

423031, what is this? Liar Liar 2: Pants On Fire ?
Posted by FortifiedLive, Tue Dec-23-08 06:30 PM
423045, what's that other movie he did where he had to tell the truth?
Posted by Mynoriti, Tue Dec-23-08 07:47 PM
this one looks like a sequel to that one
423054, Put Cary Elwes, Maura Tierney, and Jennifer Tilly in this flick...
Posted by mrhood75, Tue Dec-23-08 08:42 PM
...and you just might be able to call it the second "Liar Liar" film.
423089, I liked it... it was lightweight inspirational. B

423311, I thought it was outstanding
Posted by ncr2h, Fri Dec-26-08 01:34 AM
Surprisingly hilarious.

Like, I knew it was supposed to be a comedy. But I was like DAMN. I was expecting Bruce Almighty levels of comedy, not this shit. I was literally laughing every scene for like 3/4 of the movie.

I would say it's in the vein of Bruce Almighty, although the idiots will compare it to Liar Liar. IMO his best work since, dare I say it? Dumb and Dumber?? Wow. I'm a cheap bastard, but I am definitely tempted to go see this one again, and it'll most definitely get bought on DVD.

I'm giving it a solid A.
423323, I like coming back to this thread.

424273, watched it this weekend and if your a Jim Carrey fan: GO SEE IT!!!
Posted by 6_1_flo, Tue Dec-30-08 06:41 PM
It's funny. Only similarity to Liar Liar is he says "YES" to everything, but you have to watch and see why, and what happens because he decides to says YES. Jim Carrey puts on a great performance. There was one little section of the movie, where the pace was bout to get thrown off, but it was a good flick. Someone else mentioned this in this thread, it is light-weight inspirational.
