390301, Ledger's death gave the film life...

...as in

"its great"

"greatest comic book movie ever!"

"totally awesome"

when in reality it was a borefest outside of the Joker's sketch comedy routines.

because of Ledger's death, the Dark Knight has become the current pop culture fascination, obsession, and....fix.

"its the in thing, you have to see it", you have to like it, you have to think its great..."

its this summer's version of sex and the city.

only difference is, that sex and the city was actually somewhat good, and none of them bitches died.

the movie suffers from poor writing. the characters tell the story through exposition in their dialogue, as opposed to the director actually doing his job, a bitch move as a director/writer. one too many storylines. the main character, the dark knight, is the 5th wheel and afterthought. dent and the joker overshadow him (even gordon to an extent). You can barely make out what the f*ck Alfred was saying with his accent. F*cked the whole fabric of the "burning the forrest down" moral of the story up.

again, all this sh*t would be noticed, had Ledger had not died. there would be no oscar talk. he would be just a cool ass character had he lived. not a legend in the making, oscar-worthy, james dean like tragedy they are making Heath's death out to be.

the execs are happy as f*ck. and scared as f*ck. they raking in the dough now, but they had Ledger's death to get over the hump, since the movie they actually made sucked. they can't get over next time. the Joker is now a stain on the brain of the viewing public. Ledger is now the new James Dean. Whatever villain you put in his place, aint going to work. Not to say, it couldn't work. It just won't. the viewing public has deified Ledger. Commercially they are straight. They could still do Spider-Man 3 numbers with the 3rd movie. But i don't think they will be immune from Spider-Man 3-like critical panning, like the Dark Knight should have received. Because if they continue the b.s. they did with the Dark Knight, they won't have Ledger's death as a masquerade (no pun-o) the 3rd time around.
