385176, Curb Your Enthusiasm
Posted by stead21, Fri Jul-11-08 01:26 PM
Well after the Wire ended, I've been looking for another HBO show to check out and I found it. Curb Your Enthusiasm is totally nuts! I watched the first season so far and I just find myself with my mouth wide opened. Larry David is a fool on this show, he has poor sense of everything. Totally funny!
385179, Enjoy . . . it gets even funnier
Posted by Wordup, Fri Jul-11-08 01:49 PM
well until Season 5, but even that is enjoyable

To be honest, I'm a huge fan of JB Smoove and I saw him on Season 6 Meet the blacks. Is season 5 or 6 not too funny? I know sometimes when a show has been on long, it kind of wears after a while, but I'm still early in the show.
385187, Personally... the only season I didn't love was 4
Posted by buckshot defunct, Fri Jul-11-08 02:17 PM
(that's the one with The Producers, right?)

Just seemed of a slightly less caliber than previous seasons.

S5 to me got things back on track, and S6 was top notch Curb.
385272, I liked Season 4
Posted by Mole, Fri Jul-11-08 05:17 PM
The Producers opening night finale was kinda ridiculous. Season 5 was probably the flattest, to me, only because the humor seemed to get increasingly goofy. But Season 6 was an amazing turnaround.
385337, Season 5 is the weak one, Season 6 is the comeback

385190, season 5 is the best

"you've got some long balls larry"
385195, Mint? Tissue? Pen?

385270, That's Season 6
Posted by Mole, Fri Jul-11-08 05:15 PM
Season 5 is the one with the story arc of Larry thinking he's adopted. It's a funny season, but the humor is a bit more over-the-top ridiculous.

But Season 6 was one of the best of the series.
385215, Season 6 is my favorite
Posted by THRILLHOUSE, Fri Jul-11-08 03:17 PM
JB Smoove is great as Leon. I hope they bring him back for Season 7.
385492, i thought they already had the last season?
Posted by southphillyman, Sat Jul-12-08 11:49 PM
this is still going on?
385687, Jeff Garlin said there will be a Season 7
Posted by THRILLHOUSE, Sun Jul-13-08 09:14 PM
and I think Richard Lewis mentioned returning for Season 7 as well
385196, season 2 is the best imo
Posted by Deebot, Fri Jul-11-08 02:39 PM
385289, for me, 3 is the worst and 2 is the best with the rest like this
Posted by weston24, Fri Jul-11-08 06:21 PM
season 2 - the doll episode and the episode with larry trying to get someone to change a tyre and his "ass fetish" come to mind as highlights.
season 6
season 1
season 4
season 5
season 3
385314, The Doll might be my favorite 1/2 an hour of TV in the last 20 years
Posted by handle, Fri Jul-11-08 08:26 PM
I can't imagine a better script or TV episode than that one. It should be taught in college television writing and production classes.

It beats the Adolf Hankler episode of The Larry Sanders show. How crazy is THAT??!!??

Dude playing the orchestra in dude's front yard was funny as hell. The black lady also telling him not to bring water into the theater! Dude getting told off by the black lady in the restaurant, then the cherry on top was the fact that she was at the house of Richard Lewis' doctor. Then he told the affirmative action joke to him earlier in the day and also pissed him the fuck off. I can go on and on, this show is nuts and I love it. This show is like the dark side of Seinfeld.

No way! Season 3, the restaurant season? I agree S2 is probably the best but any season that ends the way S3 does is a fucking keeper.
385356, the ending was great yer, may be the only bit i really remember..
Posted by weston24, Sat Jul-12-08 04:59 AM
I think I'll rewatch that season very soon, a long time since I've seen it. Might well prefer it now, after seeing 4, 5 & 6.
385400, how can you forget the bra sniffing dog?..

The last two seasons. I know there on Blu-Ray and I'm tempted to check them out, but that show got too intense for me, even over the Wire IMO.
Curb Your Enthusiasm is a nice change up for my HBO joints.
385395, season 5 > season 6 > season 4 = season 3 > season 2 = season 1

385674, I had such a mean ass teacher in second grade I was scared to ask her.....

ok so everyone has their personal favorites imo...theyre all good..just different, but every episode has its moments and really depends on your humor...i think i like season 4 the best...the hov lane may be favorite episode of all...but honestly every season has its standout eps and ones that arent up there..but u gotta appreciate the risks their taking with the show...anyone have info on season 7? is larry gonna be living with the blacks...what a premise that would be..

According to this interview from March, Jeff Garlin says Larry is writing the seventh season, but he has no concrete idea of when we'll actually be able to see it.
385491, i'm seriously considering getting the box sets. this is some FUNNY
Posted by southphillyman, Sat Jul-12-08 11:47 PM
white comedy man
i like it way better then seinfield
like if i were a rich white jew
i'd want to be larry david
just a cool muhfucker
385680, buy seasons 1-3 at least
Posted by Deebot, Sun Jul-13-08 08:46 PM
how many eps have you seen?
385681, I rewatched Interior Decorator a few days ago
Posted by Deebot, Sun Jul-13-08 08:52 PM
I think it might be my favorite episode. Every good thing about the show is encapsulated in this one.
385696, why does larry get into a physical altercation in like every other ep?
Posted by bearfield, Sun Jul-13-08 09:47 PM
(in season one, at least)

he's fighting richard lewis, that woman @ the doctor's office, the interior decorator, etc. that shit is so funny to me, lol

just finished season one. great stuff. i think my favorite ep was 'incest survivor' if only because it contained this amazing smash cut:

larry: don't worry. i promise i won't tell anyone
*cut*
*larry hurriedly telling his wife everything*

LOL

>That is my holy trinity.

I hear that It's always Sunny in Philadelphia is pretty funny too, I'm not sure if it's on CYE's level though. My top shows right now are
The Office, House of Payne, CYE, Reno 911, and 30 Rock. Another funny ass show is Everybody Loves Raymond, I actually never watched it when it was on the air, but those damn re-runs have me crying. I think I can relate with the show a lot more now that I'm older.
