387836, Avatar Aang ain't nuttin to f- wit! (spoils)

I found it interesting how once Aang hit Avatar state, Ozai couldn't run fast enough. I guess after a hundred years with no Avatar people forgot just how powerful a being the Avatar is. The most powerful that Ozai would ever be got squished by this little boy.

Really, though, usually a show will put up this really tense, see-saw battle that the hero has to find some clever way to win. But this show (smartly) took it in a different direction. It understood itself in that the Avatar is powerful enough to bring balance back to the world, no doubt. The question has never been could the Avatar beat Ozai, but could Aang master the elements and truly become the Avatar. The twist was that, once he became the Avatar, the conflict was could he still be Aang, the little monk boy who wouldn't hurt a fly, literally. And it turns out that his incorruptibility is what allowed him to defeat AND punish Ozai.

Very smart writing that stayed true to all it's characters to the very end when it would have been easy to cop out for visceral satisfaction. Love it.
