1)most of the reviews i read took issue with him casting himself in the movie in that particular role, and took issue with his in-film critique of criticism (bboth from paid critics, and cats here). And the whole backstory about the making of the film. That's cool if this shit was some ol' herzog shit, but it's a pretty simple movie about simple faith., so i don't give a damn bout none of that. I have STILL yet to see anyone actually engage the text of the film and show me the glaring weaknesses of the movie.
