This shit is garbage, the plot contradicts itself and this version is untrue to the original 1951 story. IMO this film and dialogue are dumbed down.

In the original Klaatu came to earth because humans were clearly a threat not only to themselves but also to other inhabitants of the galaxy. This time around it is the environmental crisis that prompts Klaatu to come to earth. At the end of the film Klaatu realizes humans can love so all plans to destroy humans are abandoned this contradicts his reasons for coming in the first place and GORT is also destroyed. The script is complete garbage.
Klaatu is an alien in human form and that is not fully explained either.
