It looks like the studio is expecting this to bomb something serious. Word is that it's going to break the record for playing in the most theatres on opening weekend. The studio behind the first Hulk movie tried a similar technique. The people behind that marketed the crap out of Hulk in order to pull more movie watchers on opening day in order to curb the impact of the bad word of mouth.
