I'd have to go back and watch some of the stuff from Season 3, particularly "I'm gonna kill Jim Halpert" but everything this episode was so very well done. I'm glad I spent an hour and change this afternoon catching up on the last three episodes.

I'm actually looking forward to next season now.

The stuff with Kevin was great.

Trouble in paradise for Jim amd Pam?

Sucks for Michael, he finally had a chick interested in him and he is going to F it up.

It seemed like they tried to cram to much into the one episode. Kinda overwhelming.

Yeah this was sort of my problem with it.

But... Beadie sighting! Going from McNulty to Michael Scott... I can't tell if that's a trade up or down
372171, Trade UP, easily.

372085, any bamma saying the show is a wrap got proved way wrong
Posted by Tiger Woods, Thu May-15-08 09:04 PM

If it had all ended on a happy note, it would have been a quick fix nice feeling but it would have spelled doom for the series from this day forward. the dwight/angela last mintue bit was the perfect little swerve, cause I was genuinely blown before that. when the writing is on point, this show just gets me giddy haha
372090, ... and your opinion is correct.
Posted by Hamsterline, Thu May-15-08 09:20 PM
372165, I will GLADLY take that "L". Last night's Ep was GREAT.
Posted by disco dj, Fri May-16-08 07:36 AM
I'm glad they proved me to be a mumble-mouthed liar.

372091, Andrew Bernard is going to kill everyone............
Posted by stead21, Thu May-15-08 09:21 PM
That will be the real story line of next season.
372092, I also see Halpert getting Ryan's old job.........
Posted by stead21, Thu May-15-08 09:22 PM
So Pam and Jim will be in New York together. Altogether everyone on the count of three 1..2..3.. AWWWWWWW
372093, One of the most funniest parts of the finale was......
Posted by stead21, Thu May-15-08 09:23 PM
When Pam said that she thought Toby was kind of cute. LMAO. Toby has been trying to get with her since day one.

I think I agree with that.

372095, Was it me or was Pam really salty about Jim not proposing......
Posted by stead21, Thu May-15-08 09:27 PM
I wonder if she might be thinking this could turn into another Roy situation?
372098, RE: Was it me or was Pam really salty about Jim not proposing......
Posted by Nieman5, Thu May-15-08 09:30 PM
Yeah without question. She was mad disappointed, but for the sake of entertainment they are going to drag it out ( lay a base as Jim would say). Seeing that everyone hates on them being together it only makes sense to throw some drama in there.
372120, If they do that for another season, I quit

The show might feel a little disjointed if they're constantly cutting from NY to Scranton to get in all the characters. I don't know if that's gonna work.

Unless after the break, all that shit has been dealt with already? Who knows
372203, RE: I also see Halpert getting Ryan's old job.........
Posted by josephmurf2384, Fri May-16-08 09:05 AM
It worked well with Scranton and Stanford when Jim Left, why couldn't it work with New York?

LMAO, that shit cracks me up everytime!!!!! That plot is going to be awesome with Andy and Dwight! Phyliss will tell too just because Angela has always been a biatch to her!!!!

She's a biatch for that one. Even though this is just a show, I felt really sorry for Michael when Jan said it wasn't his!

Yeah, that was way left field.

Plus it seemes kinda like they could of held off on the Ryan story line. That would of made a good episode next season.

Way to much going on Jan/Michael, New girl/ Michael, Ryan, etc.

Seems like they killed all the others, gave the origin of the smoke monster away, sunk the freighter, and got off the island all on the same night.

They still left me wanting more, but not nearly as much as last year.
372102, When Jan did that to Michael, I just thought about the one episode....

Where everybody brought there kids to work and Michael forced Ryan to go to his moms house and get the video of when Michael was little. This link should jog the memory:

I feel you on holding off the Ryan storyline, but they might of needed to put that to rest. It seemed like Ryan wanted to fire Jim badly! He's salty cause he couldn't get with Pam. It seems like everybody is salty about not getting with her. I'm not sure if you remember the dinner episode where Michael lied to Jan about dating Pam.
372121, Shame on you all for ignoring the best scene of the season

372123, The Kevin storyline was hilarious
Posted by adam, Thu May-15-08 10:36 PM
Everything about it, from him at the vending machine holding all change and a button to his wave from the car as he drove off.

And even though I don't even remember if he had any lines, Andy's father was perfect. He had such a funny look on his face as Andy is proposing. The Dwight and Angela twist at the end was a nice touch too.

Really enjoyed the whole episode, and looking forward to next season.

Oh man, almost forgot another of my favorite parts- Creed trying to figure out just what he does was quite awesome.

Cuz Kevin really has been talking straight up retarded.
372130, RE: I wouldn't mind if they stretched that storyline as far as they can.
Posted by adam, Thu May-15-08 10:51 PM
Yeah, I always did like Kevin, but can't really remember the last time I was so entertained by him or a storyline involving him.
372133, it kinda felt exploitive after a few scenes

Shit every time I looked at him last night I couldn't help but at least smile. Yeah the part with the button at the machine was hella funny too. "You can have anything on this top row" lol

I Love That Dirty Water...Boston Your My Home
372132, I liked it. but it never really got "great" to me.
Posted by will_5198, Thu May-15-08 11:13 PM
and before you bash me like the other haters, I've like S4 for the most part.

I had hoped for some more REALLY dirty Michael-Toby stuff. they hinted at it, but I was waiting for Hiroshima.

right before Jim was about to propose I thought, "where has Andy been this episode?" -- nice.

I don't mind Michael becoming kind of a father. we might get to see some new depths to his character next year.

JAM (why...?) is just set up for an upcoming failure; which will then be resolved because everyone wants to see them together for good.

really, they might as well just keep them a permanent couple...they've milked the tension in that relationship for 50 episodes already.
372138, I agree with all this
Posted by Zeno, Thu May-15-08 11:29 PM
Only classic moment was Mose and the raccoon. It was nice seeing Michael struggle to become normal too.
372149, RE: I liked it. but it never really got "great" to me.
Posted by charlie bucket, Fri May-16-08 02:33 AM
yeah it wasnt shitty but it wasnt that good either. it had a couple moments. i havent been into the last few episodes that much. you know it might be this episode wasnt that bad but the earlier episodes were so much better.

Before y'all try to label me a hater, lemme say that "The Office" remains my favorite show on television, and I've never understood the posters on here who tried to claim that Season 3 was a significant drop off from the previous season (S2 is maybe a hair better, if that, IMO). But I found this season to be really uneven. Part of that has to do with the strike -- the fact that the season was reduced to 10-11 episodes meant the storylines couldn't build as naturally and with as much subtlety as in the past. But going into the finale, it didn't have that same feeling of tension, of everything coming to a head. And by the end of the episode, it just felt sorta...flat.

First of all, Ryan's crash-and-burn moment should have been woven deeper into the episode. That's the one thread they've been building toward from the beginning of the season, and all we get from it is a YouTube clip of him being arrested? And for fraud? What happened to the drug problem thing? And what about his PA feud with Jim? I mean, we see Jim leave that message, but it's basically a useless scene because nothing comes of it and has no bearing on the rest of the show. And I don't know how much I like Ryan's downfall being something as serious as committing fraud (of course, if his subsequent trial gives us some Michael-testifying-in-court scenes, then it's probably worth it).

As for Jim and Pam, that relationship has needed some tension, but I dunno if Pam waiting for Jim to propose is the right kind of tension -- especially since we, the viewer, already know Jim's intent, and we already know now that Pam WANTS him to propose. It'd be a lot more interesting if we didn't know how one of them felt about their situation. Jim taking Ryan's job could be interesting, considering this season we've seen that he might now be as good in a managerial position as it would seem (I've always enjoyed the inference that Michael and Jim are a lot more similar than it appears on the surface), but God I hope a Jim-and-Pam series isn't the spinoff they've been talking about.

Regarding Michael being a "kinda daddy," it has potential, but the encounter with Jan didn't register with me because Jan has hardly even been mentioned since the "Dinner Party" episode. Same with the Dwight-Angela-Andy thing: It seemed like the Dwight-Angela relationship was all but forgotten about in the post-strike episodes when before it looked like it was going to be the focal point of the season. It came out of nowhere and I didn't really know what to think or feel about it. Why would Angela accept Andy's proposal? We didn't get deep enough into the character this season to know why she'd be DATING somebody she obviously can't stand, let alone marry.

All that being said, there were still a lot of funny moments (I was expecting more from Toby leaving -- like him maybe taking a shot at Pam, attacking Michael or at least reaching some kind of understanding with him -- but the gift-wrapped rock was almost enough); I loved the running gag between Kevin and Holly, especially since Kevin has taken a Homer Simpson-like plunge into retardation lately, and I think Amy Ryan will be a good addition to the cast. But, while I do feel a void in my heart as I do at the end of every "Office" season, I'm not quite as rapt with anticipation as I usually am for the start of the next one.

372148, They need to break up Jim and Pam
