But it comes nowhere near to being as bad as people made it out to be. On a five-star scale, I'd give 2.5 or 3. Visually, Speed Racer was one of the better movies that year just off all that color and movement.

That being said, I wish people would stop this trend of reading box office numbers as if they were reviews. A lot of people crucified Speed Racer because it was such a flop. Even I was guilty at the outset until I finally caught it on HBO.
