The fact that he came within one million of the Coens, whose box office may have been boosted by the Oscar win, shows that TP isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Also, this wasn't even a Madea movie.
And I don't understand that snobby dislike of melodrama as a genre. So the over-the-top nature of melodrama was cool in the 50s and 60s but it can't be now? GTFOHWTBS.
