>Dude, this is all pure comedy.

No, watching you try and muster a matter-of-factly
know it all bravado is comedy.

Especially when its clear how motherfucking wrong
you are.

Jesus.

>Okay, Blair Underwood got a good role. He works steadily, but

Lol.

Who the fuck said anything about "saved?"

Dumbass.

No one said Tyler Perry gave acting roles to Rwandan
orphans or rebuilt post-Taylor Liberia.

We said his work is actually giving opps to deserving
actors and actresses that were getting NO ROLES at all,
doing so in films, again, which are fairly successful.

>Give me another example of someone else's career being
>furthered after being in a Tyler Perry movie, otherwise you
>are just spewing hot air.

Motherfucka, ACKNOWLEDGE THE ACTUAL POINT THAT
BASAGLIA HAS MADE.

Don't go off and create your own dumbass argument.

Let's rehash the ENTIRE Tyler Perry argument put
forth by Basaglia et al(the ones you are here for, and the
ones you weren't here for):

-Tyler Perry is NOT a "coon"

-Tyler Perry is NOT "bad for Black America"

-Tyler Perry is NOT an "idiot"

-Tyler Perry is, if ANYTHING, GOOD for black hollywood,
in large part because he gives work to respected actors
and actresses, giving PROMINENT roles in MAJOR HOLLYWOOD
MOVIES, something these actors and actresses were NOT
GETTING WITHOUT TYLER PERRY.

Basaglia correctly highlighted this Underwood situation
as a SPECIFIC EXAMPLE of the LAST POINT.

Basaglia is right.

You are a dumbfuck, and wrong.

>Why in the hell are you hellbent on convincing me MEET THE
>BROWNS is a big movie? No one said it wasn't. Your convoluted
>mess about seeing a commercial for it only undercut your whole
>point by making you seem like you don't know what the fuck
>you're talking about. Lots of movies, big or small, have
>commercials. It's irrelevant. Move on.

Okay!

Good!

So how many movies had commercials during 'A Raisin in the
Sun', on ABC during primetime?

I know about a dozen black independent filmmakers with
completed "small films." None had commercials between
8pm and 11pm this past Monday because, unlike Taylor Perry,
few people care about their movies.

Perry, on the other hand, is casting Angela Bassett in a
leading role in a movie that people DO care about.

I mean, wow. See how simple that was?

Lol.

>But Angela Bassett being in this movie does not mean her
>career is suddenly going to take off again. And if that's not
>your suggestion, why the John Travolta analogy?

Lol.

Angela Bassett is a black woman in her 40s.

Nothing can make her "take off" in Hollywood. The best
we can hope for is that.....

.....someone casts her in a leading role, so at the very
least, she can get to show her ability, which dwarfs
99.99999% of white actresses her age.

>Hey, maybe Angela will be hot after this, just like Travolta
>was after Pulp Fiction. I hope so, that would be nice. But we
>have no way of knowing that right now. Which is why it sucks
>as an example.

See above.

You keep putting them up, I'll keep knocking
them down.
