Spike won the Wexner Prize here in Columbus, so they had a conversation in front of a packed auditorium. Spike didn't really reveal too much that was new about his career, but this movie looked REALLY good. It was more like an extended montage of footage. If that was the score that I heard, it sounded terrific too. They talked about the films' ties to Italian cinema, Spike's difficulties with communication, and trying to find the main kid. But (surprise, surprise) Spike seemed VERY passionate about the subject matter. Two of the original soldiers were in the audience, and the ovation given made me damn near tear up.

But yeah, the footage was veeeery cool. This film may be up for awards next season.
