Like what? I admit not all his movies were great, but what other mediocre ones does he have? I can only think of two right off hand, next to the Departed: After Hours and Kundun. He has way more great films.

Yes. Obviously the point to it was to show how another person (the psychiatrist) was out there living a double life fucking Damon and Dicapprio, and even though they were both living double lives they didn't know that someone else was doing the same thing to them emotionally. That's a good idea. But the execution of it was really forgettable, almost to the point where it seemed thrown in half-heartedly, since the love story doesn't seem to go anywhere.
