Give me your top 5 movies of the year so far, since we're officially halfway through it

If you feel like explaining why, then by all means, do so

But this is, for all intents and purposes, another list post

You'll live

I'ma come back later, but I will say that Ratatouille, Once, and Zodiac are 3 of my 5

And if you want to include test screenings for movies that are coming out later this year, then go right ahead

And with that, American Gangster has just been added to my list

Also, *edited for the Cartman voice*

Thnx

3. Knocked Up (Apatow)

4. Old Joy (Reichardt)

5. Fay Grim (Hartley)

I saw it a festival.

Man, I hope it gets U.S. distribution 'cause it deserves it.

Are you a fan of the director or just interested in Hana?

that seeing movies in my company heightens the experience. :-)

All four that we saw were SO good. I never expected to be running around talking up a shark documentary as much as I have, lol.
296188, LOL. I was thinking the same thing as I made the list.

Me too! Whenever someone asks me what I saw at SIFF, Sharkwater is the one film I tell them about the most. I liked The Violin better, but I have trouble describing it in a way that does it justice, and besides I don't think it would appeal to as many as Sharkwater would. (B&W *and* subtitled? *gasp!*)

296044, My pathetic running list (I haven't seen anything this year)
Posted by SoulHonky, Mon Jul-02-07 01:08 PM
Zodiac
300
Ocean's 13
Hot Fuzz
Knocked Up
Blades of Glory
28 Weeks Later
Smoking Aces
Disturbia
---

The time off for the 4th will likely be a movie marathon.
296060, this is not easy
Posted by janey, Mon Jul-02-07 01:42 PM
The Violin
Once
Indigenes
The Lives of Others
The Wind that Shakes the Barley

NOT easy.

Can I get two extras because two of mine didn't reach my miniscule market until 07 even though they were 06 US releases (Indigenes & The Lives of Others)?

If so, add:

The Old Garden
and a tie between Black Sheep and The Host.

lol
