Because if it is wack and stereotypical and it goes nowhere, then all is right with the world.
Anything that one group thinks is wack but it achieves big success is going to get hate from that first group. People don't like things they can't understand, things that don't fit into their tidy little categories.
It's the same for white movies and TV shows too. Just go back to the Evan Almighty post. Just look at your own reaction to Tarantino. People hate what they don't understand.
