264364, an amazing movie, though long
Posted by justin_scott, Fri Mar-16-07 07:18 PM
there isn't anything boring about this movie, unless you prefer movies with action every single minute and no story or pace.
264520, The 4 HOUR extended version is actually totally engrossing

I don't see a lot of mainstream movies, though.

I was tricked into seeing Forrest Gump by someone I thought loved me. Whew! Some lessons you learn the hard way!

Posted by blue23, Fri Mar-16-07 01:15 PM

I mean there's some of his you just can't avoid and Raiders of the Lost Ark is still a classic. But I can honestly say that even as a kid I hated ET. Believe it.

Also -
All of the new Star Wars movies
All the LOTR series
All of Clint Eastwood's director movies besides Mystic River

Wish I could say Crash but unforutantely I did sit through that piece of shit. I almost turned it off about 7 times but I hated it so much I just forced myself to endure so no one could say, "But did you see that scene?"

BTW

Having had a girlfriend for the last 7-8 years (though not the same one all the way through) and growing up hanging around some seriously boring and wholesome girls, the fact that I've never seen My Best Friend's Wedding as a badge of achievement. We can't all be in control of the tv all the time and managing to avoid it...feels great.

264832, Ah, another "pride in ignorance" post.
Posted by Frank Longo, Sun Mar-18-07 07:42 PM
I'll pretty much give any movie a fair chance, with the proper coercion. You learn a lot about how to make movies by seeing any movies, good or bad.
264962, I thought someone might say this.
Posted by Arch Stanton, Mon Mar-19-07 08:53 AM
But this post is in the spirit of ducking your friends one night when you KNOW it's gonna be a bad time.

Basically, you're gonna see a fair share of bad movies, or at least ones you don't like, throughout your life no matter what. Think about how much time you've wasted on bad cinema and this issue clears right up.
264917, Name a shitty movie.
Posted by PolarbearToenails, Mon Mar-19-07 12:02 AM
I don't understand why people go to shitty movies when there are so many good movies they could watch. Not to mention other things they could do.

it's just not for me. i already know.

the only way i'd watch it is if i were on a plane and it was the movie they showed. i'd only watch it b/c i'd be captive. luckily that's never going to happen since it's rated-R. yay!
