I'm watching Jedi on HBO, and it occurs to me that my hipster disdain for the ewoks is probably misplaced. I mean, yeah, they came into being for merchandising, but there are actually some pretty good scenes. The Threepio is a god thing is cute. They do good work in the battle--the scene where the one realizes the other is dead is genuinely touching and brings home the magnitude of the battle they're fighting. Plus one of them pets Chewie, which is cool.

I'm also thinking that Mark Hamel actually didn't suck as much as I thought he did (with the exception of the infamous "FATHER, PLEEEEASE" scream) but one battle at a time.
