224449, Allow me to just say...this is a great forum.
Posted by Jeremiah Mercer, Fri Oct-20-06 06:26 PM
I don't want to turn this into a PTP lovefest (too late), but goddamn if this isn't the most interesting forum on OKP. Yeah, it gets less visitors, replies, etc. than the other ones, but I love the fact that people who are knowledgeable about damn near every aspect about pop culture can congregate up in here.

I mean...where the hell else can you talk about Dane Cooking sucking (or not sucking, depending on whose reply you read), Dwight's cousin Mose, and Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance in under three clicks? No other place that I know about.

So yeah...this post doesn't have much of a point, other than to be appreciative of the people who frequent this forum, so take it for what you will.
224450, Thank you, and stop by anytime.
Posted by ZooTown74, Fri Oct-20-06 06:29 PM
Yeah, it's all love over here, for the most part... I mean, yeah, we (read: I) may squab with folks on here, but at the end of the day (the regulars know that) it's all love, or at the very least, respect on both sides...

But anyway, thank you for the kudos... and a HARRAMBEE! to my PTP peoples....

It's great. PTP is the single most impressive and genuinely loveable thing on earth. Like if you could imagine a puppy that lives on a cloud made of cotton candy and all day long it shits money. This would be better than that.

The puppy of course. (now you're just being difficult)

But forget all that. It doesn't even halfway explain how great PTP is.

You know how great PTP is?

Imagine you crack open the shell of a walnut.

but instead of getting a walnut, Jesus jumps out of it and says:

"You know you've always been my favorite"

then he hands you a check for a hundred dollars and disappears.

And you still got a whole bag of walnuts left to eat!

PTP is better than all of that.

i like hustle cause it reminds me that a good portion of the world dont know shit about their money.

sports is a romp and a half

and i surprisingly spend a good amount of time in high tech just to see how many times in a day someone will mention the art of downloadable RAM and still think its fresh (but god knows its still funny)

i just feel comfortable in PTP/Reviews. this forum is literally the most polite place to make good conversation of film/tv/pop culture ever. its just a good place to be. and i genuinely like the regulars here. everyone's knowledgeable and gracious in their own way (save the casual O_E post, but those really are the best).

all these ppl are chill, even the ones i dispute with on occaisons.

and its amazing that no matter how obscure or random a movie or show was, ptpers have seen it.

Posted by Ryan M, Sat Oct-21-06 05:40 AM
...but yeah, I love this place. All the regulars - you know who you are - you have introduced me to countless amazing films, TV shows, literature, etc. It's been nice, because I've been around this site for the last 5-6 years (and 4 of posting regularly), and you guys have seen me "grow up" in a sense. From going to film school to graduating to my struggles in the industry to finally landing that first REAL job in television...I've gotten tons of advice and well wishes from PTP.

I'm not gonna risk leaving anyone out so I won't name names, but I will say it feels good to see other people name me. I really know so little about film compared to these other people here that I can't believe other people would put me in that group. It's real cool to think that reviews or advice or suggestions I've given people have inspired or helped them in one way or another. That's whats up. And it's why I like this place. It's real cool.

This type of 'I love PTP post' gets made every so often, because PTP tends to
attract the males who are in touch with their feminine side.

But I'm not going to hate.

Allow OE to state the things he likes about PTP:

a) Probably the best moderator on these boards. Dude is very
typical PTP, just without the bitch qualities that the rest of y'all got.

b)You guys are on your game with the news and pix and stuff. Even
if you all are menstruating about the color of Optimus Prime's gun
in the live action film, at least I get to see the pictures I wouldn't
have seen.

c)I still haven't had anyone explain to me what 'Pulp Fiction' was
about and why its good, which fortifies my understanding that it
is the crown jewel example for how absolutely anything in our culture
can catch fire and become a widespread phenomenon, without justification
of any kind.
